Heres what could be in Infinite’s standard edition

With Halo Infinite’s campaign being said to cost $60 at retail, it’s hard to think how 343 will be able to make the campaign worth that much. I believe that 343 is actually planning on not doing that at all, and the Halo Infinite Standard Edition that can be found at best buy and amazon will include more than just the campaign. This is extremely bonkers, but still makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Aside from campaign, I think Forge will be included. This isn’t too far fetched, as I don’t think 343 would hand out map design tools for free.

The next thing is kind of far-fetched, but it’s still possible. I think the Standard Edition will include free range color customization. It makes sense since armor coatings are most certainly there so 343 can monetize the multiplayer, so making people buy the actual game to get their spartan perfect.

This next thing is the most likely to be included. I think a season pass will be included. What’s this season pass for? Why, campaign expansions, of course! With Halo Infinite being the only Halo game for the next 10 years, campaign expansions are a given, and allowing people to pay to get all the expansions when they release seems very plausible.

That’s really all that I can think of that would be on the Standard Edition. There’s probably other things that could be on there that I missed, so feel free to say what you think might be on the Standard Edition.

Perhaps theater would be behind the paywall. I loved making videos of awesome plays and such from a detached camera giving unique perspectives. With people creating awesome videos with the tools in theater it would encourage more people to pay for it since everyone wants to be a YouTube star and get rich playing video games.

Very interesting take on how the two version (paid and free) may be handled. I definitely am all for the paid version actually containing things the free version obviously won’t, because simply you paid for it. In the past I wondered if there would be a separation between the two, gamepass or free would be filled with the microtransaction content and the paid version would allow either in-game currency or unlock based customization. Rainbow six Siege has different versions based on how much you paid and this affects how things are distributed to the player based on the version they chose, normal price or cheaper version.

I think you might of over complicated the ”editions” here in my opinion.
The standard edition of a game is literally just the game. No added bits and pieces.

I’m sure a season pass may go on sale and there will be other purchasable items. As for any wild differences between the Paid, Free & Gamepass ways to access the game I can’t see there being any.

Getting penalised for not paying for the game is kind of anti consumer. 343i & Microsoft would want as many people as possible on Halo as it’s their flagship game.
Multiplayer is F2P for that very reason. To get people on the game. Gamepass, entitles you to the full game. Paying, full game. I see F2P as a gate to get people to join Gamepass more than anything - “like the game? Join Gamepass for full access”.

The point is that since multiplayer is free, what does my $60 get me? It almost certainly will be more than just the campaign.

I love the idea of reducing microtransactions abd monetization for payed customers. Allowing payers ro change their colors as they like would be a fantastic compromise. In the end, people will likely end up using the coatings anyway, but they shouldn’t have to grind to be able to use their favorite colors - especially if they paid the full price.

I agree about Forge, Theater and hopefully a PVP mode being included in this price, as well as whatever battlepass/season pass Infinite will have at launch and some exclusive items. And the Campaign, which has been referred to as “larger than the last two games combined” if 343i are to be believed (keep in mind they said something similar about Halo 5).

Personally, since the campaign is open world, if it has a similar amount of content to a typical Ubisoft game I don’t mind the full price tag. That might just be me enjoying the new Watch_Dogs for that price though.

Regardless I, and I’m sure a fair few other people, will be grabbing it on Game Pass anyway so I’m not too fussed. It’s a zero risk game for me, regardless of whether it is good, bad or has a substantial lack of content for its AU$100 price.

I wouldn’t be so sure. There’s plenty of $60 story-only games that get released from other developers each year.

Oh trust me, I’m not sure of anything when it comes to infinite. 343 will want to encourage people to purchase the game rather than just play the free multiplayer, and campaign alone does not give them much to work with to appeal to the wallets of a wide range of players.
