Heres how Halo 3 plays with Sprint

Halo 3 Sprint Gameplay

Now I seriously think this should be incorporated as a custom game setting & only be in custom games and maybe it’s own specific Playlist so general community doesn’t get upset I would love to have this for custom games, I’m fine if it doesn’t make Matchmaking

The Footage is from Halo Online, a Modified Halo 3 Engine, the same place we are getting this new armor and 2 new maps so it seems feasible

The engine also includes armor abilities, although some seem to work more like equipment and disappear after use so It would be cool if they add these to custom games to

It would be cool to see this as a option for custom games or a limited time playlist especially with 343 adding things from H3 online such as the new armor and possibly a new map but it shouldn’t be mixed with regular H3 slayer like you said

Generally I am in favour of giving players more options for how they want to play the game, especially in custom games.

However, I have to say my visceral reaction to the idea of sprint in Halo 3 is one of revulsion.

I fear 343 would struggle to resist the temptation to make it the new norm. I fear it may divide the community between those who like it and those who do not.

And there are already two games in the collection with sprint. Why not play those and leave Halo 3’s gameplay well enough alone?

It looks fun but not something I would like added. Halo 3 is fine the way it is. This only looks fun because its something new to something old so its different. That’s what makes it fun, if it becomes permanent then it’ll just po a lot of people and thats where the issue comes. So I say no dont add it and at the most make it a new option for custom games.
I’ve said this before, I treat the old games like the csgo of console with their slow pace but skill based gamplay. Sprint takes that away.

It’s been said in this topic already, but I’ll say my piece. I support the option to add sprint in CUSTOM GAMES. I’d be VERY happy to play custom Halo 3 with sprint, actually, as something different to play. That’s what custom games is all about: giving the players OPTIONS and the ability to play the game however they choose. HOWEVER…it does NOT belong in classic Halo 3. Leave it as it was intended to be played. The MCC is supposed to PRESERVE the classics while also adding new content. It’s a MASSIVE and contentious undertaking, but one that I appreciate and respect as a long-time Halo fan. As long as the originals remain in their untouched state (outside of weapon skins and additional armor customizations), I’m cool with it.
