Helping out

I want to be involved as much as possible in the MCC Insiders program which I already know to complete all the surveys, rate, complete all polls, and report bugs, but I was wondering if there are any other ways to help and get more involved inside and outside of the MCC Insiders program and assist?

I would say the best way to go ahead and get started with helping is to familiarize yourself with the games in the MCC. I would suggest playing campaign and multiplayer to just look for any bugs with either of them. Really all you can do is wait until the Insider Program starts up and go from there but if you wanted to help out a little early that’s the best thing you can do.

Playing Halo Reach before it is added to the MCC would also be a good way to get started. It would be very helpful to know of any bugs that are already in the game so you know what to expect and also you’ll be able to find new bugs faster when Reach is added to MCC

This. Having an understanding of how the game originally played will help establish a baseline from which you can make valid judgements. While I enjoyed all of the Halo games, Reach still stands out for me as having the most distinct multiplayer experience. This is not to say that the other games can’t offer valuable ideas, but the logical place to start is with the game that will be released first. If you have played it, then you’re in pretty good shape.

In terms of helping out, be an active participant in the community. Encourage others to share their ideas in respectful and constructive ways.

To what extent can we communicate in our reports? Is there a section we can elaborate on things like “in the level 343 Guilty Spark the interior lighting is too bright and in some places gore is missing, particularly the copious amount of blood that should be in the elevator shaft which was in the original - this is diminishing the atmosphere and tone of the game.” Can we give feedback like this or will they only want bug reports and questionnaires? Thanks.

Assuming my application is accepted I look forward to helping out as much as I can. I’m an old fan and these old games mean a lot as does the success of the PC ports and the future of the series.

The first flights are most likely going to be surrounding Reach. For any general feedback like this, you can use the existing pinned threads at the top of the main MCC forums
