Who doesn’t love a good assassination? Hard to pull off, but oh, so rewarding…
I have difficulty pulling them off, considering that most people are sprinting around most of the time, and if you do get up behind someone, you are more likely to execute a Spartan Charge than an assassination. I HAVE found, though, that I have made more assassinations in modes like Slayer and Big Team Battle. Anyone have helpful hints on pulling off the ultimate CQC move?
Any advice to help the community will be appreciated.
Swat is probably your best bet. No radar means you can sneak up on most people, or even sprint up, stop right behind them, and hold the melee button down.
As ToySoldier said though, if someone is wearing a decent pair of headphones, they can hear you behind them.

No. I think he means they are gonna say something. LOUD. Crouching eliminates sound.
What I do to get more assassinations is to ninja (many videos out there.recommend the one by Proximitty)but instead of tapping the melee button, hold it and it will activate just be carful of a glitch or bug that activates but then deactivates,play FFA and when sprinting behind,thrust or slide then melee.Works almost all the time.(they notice before you assassinate).
Extra Tip:
When using active camo,I just walk not sprint behind a spartan and when he/she stops or you get close enough,thrust and melee.these are how I get assassinations and hope this helped

This is true…does crouching muffle, or is this an urban myth?
Warzone and Advanced Sensors… It’s how I got the majority of mine(Like 99.99% of them).
If you go the long way behind enemy lines, you will often the enemy not paying any attention to their surroundings, and they are just free kills.
Stay in cover during your trip, as you might get spotted otherwise.

Thanks, Nightfury…this seems to be one of the more popular tactics. I hadn’t even put that together yet.

About the headphones thing, (I wear Turtle Beach off and on), I know you can hear weapon chatter much better directionally with them, but I haven’t noticed a lot of noise behind me (probably why I get assassinated). Listening for weapon rattle or footsteps?
I usually get 1 every 2 games I play (mainly BTB, warzone and swat)
