Help?

Somebody explain to me how to improve their game in order to increase stats in ranked match making. I feel like the teams I am paired with bring me down but some times I feel like my tactics are a down fall. Any new tactics or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

There is a lot to be said about that. First of all, I have the same problem. I think the first thing to improve is your defensive play and that has to do with map control and tactical positioning. Obviously, knowing the map will make a huge difference, regardless of whether you are attacking or defending yourself. But in general, you should try to find positions that provide a good overview so that you cannot get flanked (so easily, anyway). I will try to sum up my strategies:

  1. Stick with your team. Whatever you run into, you’ll have a better chance of survival if you’re with your team. Also, if you are only outnumbered 2:1, you will likely die because they can put enough shots in you faster than you can react (unless they have bad aim and don’t know what they’re doing).

  2. As I said above, try to find spots where you’re not going to be outflanked. Tough to find and the maps are not really arranged to provide such a position. But some are at least better than others. You should also have an escape route, if possible one that leads to back to where you were so that you can outmanoeuvre your enemies.

  3. Stick to the high ground. Provides overview and makes it harder for the enemy to hit you with grenades and whatnot.

  4. Keep moving and fast! If you don’t have a good position, run for it. Run, jump, boost, clamber … makes it harder for the enemy to hit you and when they try, they give away their position and you have something to go on.

  5. Don’t push it! If you’re up against someone and your shields are going down while you’re shooting, so apparently you have similar aiming skills, get outta there. Don’t be impatient. Better retreat. You know their position. Try to outflank them … when you get one or two shots in while they don’t expect you and cannot react so quickly, you have a better chance.

  6. Use grenades. And use the walls to get them where you want them to go. That takes time and practise but it’s extremely helpful in the end. It also provides distraction. Say you throw a grenade, they will think they know your position. If you then take a different route to approach them, that may be an advantage.

I think that’s enough for now. Hope it helps. Good luck!

Thanks!!!

Your biggest thing is probably one of two things. Sticking with team members so that they can assist or you can assist is huge, the game is about winning and not about getting every single kill. Being a good team player is better than being a super high fragger. Next would be map knowledge and figuring out the spawn cycles so you can reliably guess where enemies will be coming from and lastly is choosing whether or not to fight is critical. Dont go into a fight or taking a fight you wont win. If you play smarter by taking fights you can win or can most likely will win will result in less points for the enemy team. Examples include dont take 2v1 fights, dont engage in long distance fights when you dont have a long range weapon, if the enemy has a power weapon dont play to that weapons strengths i.e a shotgun at close range. Once you play smarter you should be able to string more killing sprees and get more medals resulting in more xp.

Thanks for your support and advice!!!
