Is there anything I should know as to starting in Halo? Haha… It’s pretty depressing to be a bad as I am. Just got an Xbox One so this will be difficult.
First time owning one and Halo 5 is the first game I decided to play.
Please give me some tips or something. I really appreciate it!

Play the campaign from easy to legendary if you are new. Then try playing action sack to super fiesta for awhile (if you are new then map familiarity is key.) then once you feel comfortable try other playlist. Firefight doesn’t hurt either if you are new.

Playing Heroic Firefight will help you get the controls down. Also make sure to only buy bronze and/or silver packs until silvers are complete, this way you won’t waste RP on gold packs
Heroic Firefight (WZ) is a good way to get used to the controls but if you’ve just started you’re going to have few choices in your REQ & loadout weapons. It’s still doable, but just not as fun since you’ll need to scavenge dead teammates and AIs for new weapons lol. Definitely don’t try out WZ until you’ve built up a good sized REQ pool (weapons/vehicles) because you’ll often find yourself out gunned (literally).

Action sack could give you bad habits. I’d just start with the story.
If you have any friends online that own the game, I’d recommend you set up a private custom slayer game and get a feel for the maps and just duke it out; or try Warzone.

all good ideas but if you want to learn the maps i suggest loading up forge or custom games with each of the maps that 343 offers to learn them. Might not be that fun running through maps alone but it helps.
Also check out the spartan companies, helps to have people to play with
Definitely hit the campaign to familiarize yourself with the control basics, and try picking up all the different weapon types so you get a nice little taste of their particular advantages and drawbacks. For multiplayer, I’d say def start of in Heroic Warzone Firefight: the A.I. foes are fairly weak, and you don’t have to worry about killing/being killed by other players (betrayals excluded lol), and it’ll give you a good introduction to the Req system and all that. Then of course, once you’re comfortable with weapons and controls, go hit up some Social Arena! Super Fiesta is a whole barrel of fun, and you’ll get to try a whole slew of weapons out! From there, it’s mostly just going to be learning by way of hands-on experience! If you’re playing alone and want to join up and learn the ropes a bit, hit me up if I’m online, I always play on this gamer tag (xLBKx BOOTS). Best of luck, and welcome!
Playing through campaign maybe twice on each difficulty up to heroic will definitely help you adapt to Arena life a bit, otherwise it’s just a matter of practice.
