In theory it should work as Xbox 1 players can play against 360 players in MM and customs. I would imagine you may be one of the first to try it so please give it a go and report back how it went.

I will correct myself here and say that it doesn’t look good. The one does not support System link play.
It allows me to choose system link as an option and I can see the other two parties. However, when I select a player, the “join party” option is grey and does not allow me to select it. The two 360s link, and I actually linked two Xbox ones this way as well, but it seems that linking the two different types of consoles does not work.

I figured out what I was doing wrong. The 360s had not been logged into xbox live in ages, so once I logged in, they updated and I am now able to link them to the Xbox One.
Has anyone had comm issues with a system link game between 360 and One?
Also, I am having issues with a guest accounting the one. It seems as though the only option is to use a temporary?

Only way I got it working was to use ethernet instead of wireless for the Xbox one. After that, the 360s connected both wirelessly and jacked in.
Even though the Xbox One is backwards compatible now, I don’t see it being able to be hooked up for a system link with another Xbox one or a 360.

The console itself has everything needed to support LAN. The reason you don’t have it in many games is because MS has been actively discouraging it. Not putting in support in the dev kits and whatever.
MCC can LAN as long as you have a live connection. Gears Ult has LAN. And so does a COD game. If the game has LAN support, like these and many 360 games, then the console should allow it.
If I get chance tonight I’ll hook everything up and test it myself.
