I was playing gears of war earlier this week (*AND NO, I’m not saying halo should be like GOW) and i noticed how they holster the pistol on their thigh/leg area and have the two main weapons on their back, and i remember in halo 3 i think that they would holster needlers and pistols on there thighs to.
I just began to wonder why a spartan could not have a DMR, and an AR on his back while holding a pistol, and vice versa. is there anything in the lore that says stuff like this as i just don’t know :)?
Yeah, I’m just wondering lore wise is there anything restricting a spartan from carrying two guns on his back? maybe not so much in the games I’ve just not seen or heard anything in the expanded fiction of a spartan doing so.
3 weapons can be a bit too much I think because people on multiplayer could become really over powered say they were to carry a Rocket Launcher, Sticky Detonator and a Binary Rifle but theres a minimal chance of that happening but sticking to 2 would probably be the best option in my opinion
There isn’t any lore reason, it’s just gameplay, as other people have pointed out. In reality a Spartan would be able to carry at least four weapons, two on their back, two on their leg holsters. That’s not counting of course what they could carry in their hands or carry with some kind of strap or something. But yeah, it’s just a gameplay balance thing, you can’t have people carrying around too many weapons in game otherwise you’ll have people using too many power weapons or just having an unfair advantage due to the number of weapons they’d have. There’s not actual lore or real-life limitation beyond what they can physically carry.
I agree that it is just gameplay and nothing more. That said, two primaries and two sidearms how they should go in my opinion but not in gameplay. lol.
