Anyone willing to help me understand halo way point and this Spartan companies thing? I’ve played halo for a long time but I’ve just now connected to halo way point. There’ll probably be more questions in the future, but for now just this.

What is your question?
Essentially, how do I halo waypoint?
I’m completely new to this sort of thing. Like I have no idea how to get the Achilles armor and I’m not familiar with these Spartan companies.
Waypoint is another way of connecting with the Halo community outside of playing the games. You can access your game data across all Halo titles (excluding the ones on PC), share your thoughts with others, and browse through the forums to see what everyone else is talking about.
Spartan Companies are basically Halo clans where you can join, recruit, or even create one on your own. There are hundreds (perhaps thousands) of active Spartan Companies out there. Some play for fun. Others are very competitive. Some attempt to become military-like, and the rest exist for other reasons. For more information on Spartan Companies, please click on this link: Halo Spartan Companies
Since you are a newcomer, I recommend heading over to the Roll Call section of the forums. There, you can introduce yourself as you wish.

First and foremost, read the Forum Rules. Know the gist of what they are so you don’t get into trouble and monitors (moderators of the site) like comedyshermit don’t have to remind you. Secondly, it’s gonna take some time before you’re fully accustomed to how stuff goes around here, but I encourage you to explore and have a look around. Post on some of the hot topics. Give feedback to ske7ch, our recently appointed community manager over at 343. Check out some of the stuff people have made regarding Halo in the Community Creations forum. Whatever. Just enjoy yourself.
Pertaining to Achilles and Spartan Companies, there’s a separate section where you can look for companies still in the hunt for the armor. Because it’s been out for a while already, I’d say you’d have a better shot at getting the helmet now more than anything, but if you can find one that could use help with the armor, go for it. Otherwise, just search around for companies you think you’d like being a part of, and get to know the guys (or girls) in the company once you do so.

- Well, the above is mostly good advice. - Essentially waypoint is a place where we can come together and share our ideas and talk about Halo. We can also provide feedback to 343 in a constructive manner. - Take your time; read quite a bit; and think about what you want to post before you do so. If you do make a mistake or want to add something you can edit your posts. - I do recommend you have a gander at the forum rules linked in my signature. - If you are looking for a Spartan Company in order to attain Achilles, I’d suggest having a look in the Spartan Companies or Recruiting sections. You can also Post in Roll call and introduce yourself as mentioned above. - Be reasonable, be considerate, be polite, and encourage that in others - If you see something that violates the forum rules (once you’ve read them.) There is a report button under every post. That will draw the moderation team’s attention to it. - You can usually draw a persons attention by quoting them or MLG mysterious Tagging them using the user link function. - Welcome to waypoint. - If you have further questions feel free to PM me and I’ll do my best to answer.

Of course
here are some basic tips or description on how waypoint works. firstly you had a question about spartan companies it seems so they are basically just halo clans. if you click community at the top there is a subsection that says spartan companies where you can search for one that suits your needs and player base and that is pretty much all you need to know about spartan companies.
as far as waypoint and what its like around here people will make suggestions to 343 by simply making a post and hopefully people like their idea or they constructivley complain about problems and nostalgia.
some rules to keep in mind are
- don’t spam - don’t call out players or users for any reason (for example, a player online hacks but you can’t release their gamertag here) - be relative to halo (obviously) - don’t revive old threads - don’t get involved with flame warsand I’m sure there are more but those I believe should be the main ones to remember
you will also notice that you have a rank. your rank will increase as you make posts or comment on other posts through out the community. the more active you are, the higher your rank will go. the higher rank you are, the more profile pics and banner images you will get. and if you reach a certain rank (I believe its spartan, correct me if I’m wrong) then you can add a little quote to your user.
all of the latest news to halo will also be posted here so you can stay up to date with whats going on. you can also check your stats, search the content browser to download maps/prefabs (forge object groups)/game modes/clips/and screenshots. to download one of these that you like just hit the little bookmark button on the map or whatever it is you want. you can also edit the images, description, or tags for your maps/gamemodes/and prefabs by clicking your PFP then clicking content browser. not to mention that you can also access your req collection by going to your halo 5 stats and clicking reqs. you can sell req cards or buy req packs here.
and hopefully that sums up halo waypoint
Oh OK. Also what is this idiotic only 5 posts per day thing? I hate it. Doesn’t it defeat the purpose of halo way point being a way to communicate?

Had to be done due to an obsenely hight volune of spam that was being generated from bot accounts. It used to be 2 posts per day, but the levels have slowly increased over time

To add to the above once you will get the ability to post more over time. Just focus on making the most of the posts you do have.

You can reply on forum posts that aren’t locked, post your own questions, and with xbox one you can share clips of halo 5. You can also check you profile for service records and such, there is a maximum 5 posts per day.
