I was wondering if there was a post already about lag out problems. I see the screen a lot and it usually says connection to new host and was wondering if it was me or another player. I’m green on my Nat rating and on packet loss rate. Unfortunately my upload speed is horrible but i cant change that because of my isp(only one in town that provides cable internet) is horrible with their upload speed. Does that affect my game play? and how or what kinda tests can i run to see if there’s anything else i can do. Any help would greatly appreciated.
Over time you will play with geographically distant people who have lousy connections and this will degrade your host record. I wouldn’t give the upstream bandwidth warning any credit at all.
As long as your NAT is open and packet loss is minimal you’ve done about all you can, host selection is awful in Reach and it does a good job of handing host to the next person who is going to quit.
The host record system Reach uses is a joke and based on algorithms that are deeply flawed and fail to take into account current conditions let alone long terms ones.
