I personally thought that Halo 4 had a great story, I’d put it along side Halo 2 as best story in the series of Halo games. It was the most emotional, and it had a great moral at the end. There were a few issues such as the Neo Covenant not being explained in the game it’s self, and the backstory motive of the didactic being cloudy (with the Human-Forunner war not explained in the game, players would have to research this outside of the game or through terminals to understand that he’s not as 2D as portrayed in the game). Despite these kinks, I thought I Halo 4 had a great story in the Campaign.
Right now Black Ops 2 is ahead of Halo 4, which I personally think is complete BS. I beat the game, the story was alright, but no where near as emotional, or compelling as Halo 4’s story. We all know how heated the competition between Halo fans and CoD fans are, lets show em what we are made of. Vote for Halo 4, and surpass CoD: Black Ops 2. In the name of justice, there is no way in hell that Black Ops 2 has a better story than Halo 4.
Do your duty as a Halo fan, and vote if you feel this way!

So when people don’t, you question our enthusiasm and our Halo pride. See where the mixed messages occur?

I just feel a general lack of passion. I apologize if I have offended you, my tone was not meant to be dramatic, but more so enthusiastic. I just wanted to spread Halo joy across the fan base, you know, happy stuff
A great side story with Chief and Cortana, that was very well done.
Finally we dive into the Forerunners, who pretty much slap Humanity aside, a nice change of perspective from the content of the Kilo-5 Trilogy. The connections to the Forerunner Trilogy too, very nice.
Some things weren’t explained to the best they could have been, certainly, but I don’t feel like that detracts from the story, since I already knew what was going on. Some portrayals in gameplay weren’t the best, but thats not neccesarily a part of the story we’re referencing.
Halo 4 may not be the best story considering there are a lot of games out there that I haven’t played, but it was the best story I have personally played through so far. Regardless, it was definitely better than BO2…
I absolutely loved the campaign story of Halo 4, had actually already voted before I seen this thread haha. It definitely gets my vote. The only thing that bothered me was Lasky, always felt there should have been a little more there (after watching FUD), but it was still really good imo. Excited to see what lies ahead for the chief
> I don’t agree at all. Not only the story ruined all what was built before, changed and denatured the style of Halo, but it wasn’t even that great.
Halo 4 for best story up against games like The Walking Dead, The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite?
Yeah, no. Not happening.
Halo 4 had a good story, with the relationship betwee John and Cortana being at an all-time high, allowing us to see the Chief’s human side for once. But there were so many elements that were unexplained for those who didn’t read the books. Who were these Covenant attacking us? Who the hell is the Didact and why is he angry at us? Who are these new Spartans and where did they come from?
