After you hit SR50 you need to pick a specialization. Go to your Spartan Hub (pressing start on the main menu) and then go up to Career. You should find a tile that says specializations.
I suggest you read up on them before you choose one because once you pick one, you need to complete before choosing another one.
^ exactly what he said. Yeah after you hit level 50, its impossible to rank up unless you choose a specialization. I personally would say choose pioneer, as you rank up faster with that armor perk it gives (Fast track). But its all up to personal opinion
