So I bought the Halo 5 limited edition copy from BestBuy.com and when I received it in the mail on the 27th the steel case had a piece of plastic chipped off. The case won’t even close and it just feels really cheap! I already made a previous post where I only got one response to “talk to best buy”. Like WTF! I already did this and even drove like 14-20 miles to my closest BestBuy to try and exchange it for the same game, but they don’t even have anymore limited editions! I was willing to take a regular copy case, but they just laughed at my face for trying to exchange it and claim that it was a broken game! YES IT IS A BROKEN GAME. I love the Halo series so much and yes I DO view the case as part of the experience, especially when it comes with a steel case (which btw feels 1000X crappier than the Halo 2 LE from 10+years ago). Anyways idk what else to do because I sure as hell am NEVER driving back to that sorry excuse of a store. I guess i’ll just stick to digital installs from now on, but it sucks how I got screwed out of my first xbox one physical copy. I’m even an ELITE member at the store and I have like 30 days from when I bought it to exchange or return products! I guarantee you that if I go back I will only be wasting time and money! As even if they did have extra copies, I doubt they would open up a new limited edition to just swap cases! LMFAO Best Buy nice customer service! ELITE my -Yoink-!
Yeah, from the way it sounds you got a lemon. I guess the only way for you to get a better steel case is just to look it up on amazon or ebay or something like that. Where/how is the plastic chipped off in the case?
Same thing here. Mine has dents and the top is all bend, it also doesn’t close properly and the exterior falls half off. Anyway, I was also disappointed at the quality of it. I was expecting something like Halo Wars’ steel case, that one was amazing. Ah well, I just couldn’t be bothered to go through the hassle of trying to get a new one, they were sold out as well, so it wouldn’t even have been possible…

The inner corner inside is completely chipped and it’s barely hanging on. The damage seems to be affecting the bottom clip for the locking/closing mechanism since it wont even close. I’m pretty sure its a goner since there is plastic missing after I gathered all the small plastic pieces.
