New Xbox One user (only game is Halo Collection) but I also have an Xbox 360. I used the same Xbox Live account to sign into the Xbox one. Sometimes it says my xbox live account settings won’t allow multiplayer in Halo on Xbox One. Sometimes it looks for players and never finds any. It worked 1x in 24 hours finding other players. I just tested my network speed and got 42 Mbs on cnet’s test. Can someone shed some light on my problem? Thanks in advance.
I heard some people are still having trouble with matchmaking on the master chief collection. As for the settings part, I would have no idea. Try looking through the parental controls?
In terms of it saying your settings won’t allow multiplayer, I have the same issue. I just start the game up again and it works fine, seems to be a bug as I’ve heard several people complain about it. Try matchmaking with a friend and see if that makes a difference. Seems a bit strange as theres been loads of fixes made by 343 in terms of connecting to matchmaking, when MCC first started it was definitely like how you describe.
Thanks for the quick replies. @Xenon, I have the machine wide open for parental stuff and purchasing stuff. @Vrilen, restarting the game and logging in/out of live solves ‘not allowed’ problem…but it still doesn’t find other players. Are there typically enough players in each category to find enough for a game?
Matchmaking is for the most part working, so it is most likely your connection. Your speed is fine, so your NAT may be moderate or strict. It will tell you in network settings on the Xbox One. If it is moderate or strict, you can google how to port forward on your router.

Yes, I haven’t had any issues finding people in any playlist.
Blerg. My NAT type is Open. Still no luck.
I registered my xbox, got a apology message with an error code to reply with (although the message disappeared right away), and had to agree to some license agreement…everything worked tonight. Thanks all!!!
I have had the same issue with finding players and xbox says my NAT type is open. I’ve tried the last 4 days and have only been able to play once. I’ve had the same issues with other games too. Very frustrated with xbox lately and makes me want to get ps4
MCC and 5 won’t work at all. It says Searching for Players indefinitely and never moves beyond that screen. It was working fine one morning and stopped that afternoon. I’ve been through every suggestion made by Xbox Live support over the phone yet the problem persists. I can tell the servers aren’t down because my friend finds games just fine on his Xbox One. What’s going on? 11-14-2016
