So, here’s my question in brief… can anybody tell me who to contact in order to get the Halo 4 specializations code?
I’ve heard that players who played the game prior to November 20th were to be emailed a code sometime early December that would unlock the 6 specializations in Halo 4 that were not offered at launch (except for players who bought the Legendary Edition–they received all 8 specializations from the beginning.) However, I never received this email and thus never got the code.
Anyway, I believe that part of my problem could be due to location. I own an American Xbox and an American (NTSC as opposed to PAL) version of Halo 4, however, I have a UK Xbox Live account and live in the UK. (It’s kind of complicated as to how this all came to be, but basically, I moved to the UK, brought over my US version of the box, and needed to get a new Xbox Live Account because my American account wasn’t letting me purchase items over the Xbox Live Marketplace.)
Another thing, I read somewhere that the play-before-November-20th-unlock-the-specializations-code-deal was only valid in certain countries. Of the countries listed the US was included, but not the UK, sadly. I also remember reading somewhere that the reason for this was that UK pre-orderers of Halo 4 (as well as LE buyers) were offered the specializations as EXCLUSIVE pre-order bonus material, so the deal wasn’t valid in the UK–I guess because it wouldn’t be fair to allow players who didn’t pre-order to obtain the materials that were deemed exclusive… maybe?
Well anyway, I did pre-order. I used the US version of Amazon, had it shipped it my parents, and then they shipped it to me. I also played before the 20th–believe it or not it shipped abroad pretty quickly. No, I wasn’t using an American xbox live account… but still, I’d like to think that the keeper of the codes would take mercy on me and help a gamer out. If I could’ve pre-ordered in the UK, I most definitely would’ve. It was actually quite a pain in the -Yoink- having to pre-order Halo 4 from the states and have it shipped over. Sadly, I’m too cheap, or rather too poor, to buy a new Xbox abroad, so I must order my games from back home or wait around until I go home and then pick some up. But all of this is beside the point.
Where can I go from here to get the code? Or, at least if I wait around, will these other specializations be released to everybody–in every country?
It’s not too big of a deal and I will play the game regardless. I really enjoy the game actually. However, I’m at level 70 in Halo 4 after only about a month of play and can’t level up any further… not even just number-wise (I can’t get to 71) which is pretty weird. But yeah, I’m definitely not seeing any other specializations yet.
