🍕 Help needed - How much would you pay for this week's shop items? [Poll + Results from last week]

I agree, but it’s not as if the answer isn’t out there, you only have to read the comments on any social media post Halo put out.

FYI i’ve shared your poll on a couple of Facebook groups, hopefully we can get a few more people taking the poll

I think having a poll requiring a Google account isn’t going to get many people to vote.

Also, have you tried posting the polls on Reddit’s Halo subreddit?
I’m not sure if they allow polls or not, but if they do, I think you’ll get more people to participate in the polls.

Way I see it, paid cosmetics are a necessary evil. I wouldn’t part with my hard earned $$$ for them, but hey, if it’s funding the f2p multiplayer (and hopefully some campaign development) then I’m willing to tolerate it.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they eventually started charging for things other than the cosmetics and campaigns after more people have accepted high-priced cosmetics as a necessary evil.

I can almost guarantee when assassinations eventually get added, they’ll charge for those too.

As it stands right now I’m not spending money in the store unless I’ve built up enough Microsoft points but even then it has to be worth it to me.

Same thought process here: I’ve yet to make a single purchase from the store. But even if they were to add something eye-catching to me, I wouldn’t actually shell out real money but instead redeem MS Reward Points for it. In a way it’s kind of like earning and using in-game currency, albeit more like external-game currency lol

Ah snap, is only Google allowed? I was hoping for any email - to prevent spam votes…

And I have to say…I did everything, MySpace, Facebook, StudiVZ…but Reddit is just not my world

I think it’s only Google accounts.

Reddit’s quite nice aside from never knowing if you’ll be posting when people will downvote or upvote your post like it’s going out of style.

I didn’t even know MySpace still existed!

As in what? Better weapons?
I do buy cosmetics I like because I can afford it. But the moment the game becomes pay to win because of new weapons or equipment being behind a paywall I’ll quit playing, just on principle - I hate p2w games with deep, flaming hatred.

I thought nowadays everyone has one as most people watch youtube, and it’s the same account…

Forge, Forge materials, servers, expanded inventory space for cosmetics, lives in campaign, extensions for how many matches you can play in a day, etc.
All that stuff they charge for in MMOs and mobile games.
Most of the things they’re charging for now were limited to mobile games and MMOs before.

The problem is more about getting a good deal, more than it’s about being able to afford things.
Buying colors and combinations is absurd, and paying more than $5 for an armor set is as well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried that at some point.
Maybe not with Infinite, but in some other installment.
At that point, even if you talk about how bad it is, I’d say there will be people defending it by then.

Used to be that people laughed at the idea of bad DLC being a stepping stone for awful microtransactions and other mobile schemes in AAA games…
They said it was the slippery slope fallacy and wouldn’t listen.

Not everyone uses an account on YouTube, but I could see them having it for their phones, if they have one.
Even if they have an account though, I think people might consider it to be an inconvenience.

All the cool kids are over there, forming a secret society :sunglasses:

I really have my doubts about Forge-Items.

First of all, the Forge Community is rather small compared to the rest of Halo. So you really have limited customers to generate money.

Second: Forge + Custom Games are basically what YouTube is.
Without content creators, YouTube is an empty platform.
Halo would extremely benefit from everything that gets created in Forge. Therefore, it needs to be free. Anything else would basically be suicide.

I did the survey. Good work!

That’s true.
Even so, I think they might still find some way to charge for the mode.

They basically did this already with the lack of content in campaign and multiplayer, the bugs and the shop’s prices…

Said it every week and will say it again. No item should cost more than 100creds. When I spend ÂŁ4+ to get credits. I expect to get a handful of items for it. Not 1 single item that applies to one single armour core.

Yea, sorry for asking every week the same thing, but thanks for doing the poll each week. Helps to add to the overall-picture

Not even for a second should you be apologizing. You are doing what 343 are too lazy to do. They should hire you to actually take into account player feedback. Because atm you can tell they are using their selective hearing.

They may be a necessary evil, but taking away our color options wasn’t.

I really really do hope that they operate the shop at a loss for some time, and that it goes away eventually. I’d happily spend $60 on a new campaign each year (although I’d want it to be more dynamic and interesting than this one,) but the shop really takes away from that dev time.

Poll is still open, fellas :upside_down_face:

Some interesting tendencies so far. People seem to be surprisingly “interested” in the Spirit Visor. Well, at least compared to some other stuff.
