Help. Need to improve shot accuracy

Hey it’s me again . Yes I am struggling once again in this game and am calling on the community for assistance .

I am trying to improve my shot and be skills and have been struggling lately. I choke on almost every 4 shot and can never seem to finish people off. I’ve played this game for about a month of playing time and I believe I should have basics like this down by now

If any one can offer some advice or training that can help me better land my shots I would appreciate it. Gt goldenknight II

Thanks

Yes, i need a 1v1 partner, send me a message and ill reply with my GT. hope to see you in game!

Try to take advantage of that spread fire of the br.
Once you are going for the fourth shot, simply glide your 4th shot to the direction of the head.
The spread fire should give you the headshot. For example, if you miss and hit the air, move your aim to past the face to have a higher chance of spread fire hitting the target.

Also, seeing your ranks, you can expect a LOT of strafing so either mimic the enemies’, make your own strafe up, or jump as soon as you see that you have little to no shields, you may also crouch if they are very close to you.

Both these should give you an extra shot or two.

I usually don’t worry about getting headshot kills, but if that’s what your looking towards mastering then here’s some advice. Now before I get started, don’t take this as “expert advice” as I still only have very minimal experience with Halo 4. Now that we’ve got that covered let’s move on to some tips. For one, what I usually prefer to use when I’m in a “headshot killing” kind of mood are precision type weapons such as the Battle Rifle, Covenant Carbine, Sniper Rifle, etc. These types of guns are perfect primary weapons for getting headshots as you can easily scope out players and fire at the same time. If a player has his/her shields fully charged, don’t worry about achieving that headshot medal if you don’t think your a good shot.

What I would do is shoot at the opposing player’s torso until their shields are down, then comes the perfect moment where their head is vulnerable. You can probably tell what to do at this point, aim for the head obviously. In some scenarios, you’ll most likely be able to kill him/her. However, lets say things go wrong at that exact moment. For example, another opposing teammate joins the conflict, or maybe that annoying “little” mantis shows up. Mostly there isn’t much you can do at this point but focus on your initial target and pray that you’ll be able to achieve that kill before you probably die. This is mainly what I do when all else fails, either die trying or…die while at the same time achieving something.

[Bonus Tip] One thing that I see a lot happening is that when many players panic, they start to jump around, hoping that they will dodge the bullets being fired at them. Obviously you have to remember that in many scenarios there will be cover available and that players should use them when possible. I can’t tell you how many times this happens and they supposedly lose their killing spree. Achieving headshots are harder than they look in some people’s eyes. Another thing to remember is that practice doesn’t make perfect. It improves performance, but it doesn’t make perfect. So don’t worry about it, I like most people who are starting out or not probably failed countless times in the beginning.

I hope this tip helped! If you need any other advice I would probably be your last resort as I’m still inexperienced. Other than that, I am glad to at least given you a few tips. Good luck!

Play legendary campaign or firefight (any halo will do, but trying to use a sniper rifle, pistol[my beloved], or DMR on elites in Reach works very well) and go for precision weapons, there’s always plenty of ammo and targets. Way more than you’ll get with a 1v1.
Also, turn off all the aim assist you possibly can. Let it be you who is aiming and not the game with its sticky/ dragging recticle (no I can’t spell it).

Then when you feel okay with single shot weapons, try out the battle rifle. Things will be a lot easier with its 3 round burst (aim for the torso until you damage them enough, then twitch slightly upward. The spray will normally handle the rest).

Thanks for the responses everyone. Looking through my theater I’ve noticed a few things.

I tend to over correct my shots to where I will miss one to two bursts… Just barely.

I keep being caught off guard and end up panicking then. Shooting randomly.

I am out in the open more than I should be and I tend to be an easy target. Don’t use cover very much

I challenge way too much. Unfortunately I have a slayer/ search and destroy mentality and I have been punished very time. I tend to challenge every 1v1 encounter I have and I end up losing 8/10 of them. If anyone is interstd in 1v1ing me and willing to help with my tactics and shot. Just message me here or in xlive.
