So my group’s unofficial leader and a few others are currently unhappy with our name. Team Xmas.
Xmas came from the result of a clan war between two smaller teams. There was a Red team and a Green team. We were all friends of course and played with and against each other regularly. After the war had run it’s course (Let’s not say who won) we formed into one big happy team (Ok, it wasn’t that simple but I digress).
The name was first used during our Legendary S ops run while the war was still going on. The Spartan teams consisted of both Reds and Greens so we thought it’d be appropriate to have a name that represented the members of both sides. Xmas seemed like a good fit and it even had an X in it which was scientifically proven to make it twice as cool. After the war had ended it was suggested that this be the new permanent name (there was a terms of surrender and everything) and that’s how it’s been for the past two years.
And just to be clear, I like our current name. It’s original, meaningful to our history and we’ve had this name for a while now. But as soon as I mention getting the name registered on B.Net for Destiny they suddenly after all this time decide to put up a fuss.
I asked one of them what they’d like the new name to be. He said Team Blackjack. I then asked him why that would be a good name and he responded with “because I like Blackjack”. And that’s the best they’ve come up with!
So you can see I’m in a pretty tough spot. I was hoping that maybe some of my fellow forum members could bring some new thoughts to the table.
Besides, naming things is fun!
