There have been quite a number of things I didn’t understand or like that you did to halo over the years (mainly in reach, MCC, and 5), but this just makes me finally voice one of the many questions I’ve wanted answers to since you started running everything halo related. Why would you bring halo CE: A, 3, ODST, and 4 to Xbox one? The only things they really have over MCC are the reach/ CE MP hybrid, firefight, and more customization, and if it will work as reach did the frame rates will be noticeably slower (unless that has been fixed). Unless you can’t, I don’t see why you don’t try to just do this to MCC instead, it makes as much sense as when you gave us Remnant (give us the means to make almost if not exact replicas of EVERY halo map and instead of putting them in matchmaking you waste time remaking 1 map). This is if memory serves my only post on Waypoint and as I’ve been a fan of the series since CE, I can promise this isn’t a troll post or anything of the sort, I just want you to help me understand the 1 question I find worth putting on here.
My guess is because they don’t want to fix MCC which is just sad. Although, I’m kind of happy for both ways I guess. Halo 3 players will finally get of MCC hopefully and let us H1 and H2 fans a turn at BTB. Then the 360 version of Halo 3 is way much better, Halo 3 MCC although better in some ways was a piss port.
Digital sales. People see its gone back compat and buy it again.
Microsoft also wants to see as many 360 games as possible hit the BC program, so they were bound to come to the platform at some point.

Just hold out a little longer, Halo 3 bc is coming soon.
I don’t really care for the bc of any of them except maybe 4, I was hoping (not expecting in the slightest) that 343 would respond and answer the question anyone and probably everyone with MCC is asking, if CE A, 3, ODST, and 4 become bc the only reason to have MCC is H2 A (even though that was the main reason for purchasing it). When the only things these games have over MCC are the degree of separation, more customizations for their individual games, and firefight. At first glance it seems easier, less time consuming, and more beneficial for everyone to update MCC than bring back games that have probably 5000 people at best now (I’m only counting numbers you can see in game so campaign, forge, theater, custom games, and if you can’t see it sparton ops don’t count) and if they are like earlier COD and probably battlefield games now are overrun with cheaters. We already have the games on Xbone, while they may not feel complete in some areas they are easily playable. Why waste time with this when they could and should be updating a game that is already all of those games minus 1-3 almost if not negligable details?

my only problem with H1-3 still is the fact that accuracy seems to mean nothing, red crosshairs with a precision weapon is supposed to be an almost if not guaranteed hit, yet for some stupid reason either accuracy is screwed up beyond all reasoning, shots aren’t registering, or hit boxes are wrong which is the only other reason i can think of that i have to unload more 5 or 6 shots with the CE pistol or just as many shots with the BR, i understand keeping the old MP, but there is a such thing as a necessary fix since it seems the games reward who has the better connection and plays as cheaply as possible instead of the guy with better aim and in some cases faster trigger finger.
I am excited for these titles to be bc. Yes MCC is playable but 343’s lack of attention to it and it’s broken multiplayer at launch ultimately doomed the game. Plus as you said the individual games like H3 for instance, offer more customization but for me H3 on MCC had the worst map rotations, maps that anybody would veto on the original H3. Plus the hit detection is WAY off. Getting host on MCC is pretty much like putting in a god mode cheat code. In my opinion making the titles bc would be easier than pretty much having to rework MCC from the ground up. Anyway MCC never felt like a complete game I’d rather just play the original Halo 3 on my xbox one.

i had that hit detection about as often in the original H3, i liked most of H3’s maps as well or at least the idea behind some of them. as i said one or more of the following (depending on what the actual mechanics of the game were and how much of an impact connection had), weapon and player accuracy is not as accurately aligned as it should be, or hit boxes/ registration is screwed up, i didn’t play the original CE or H2 online (good thing too since i made all weapons but a sword look useless), but if H3 was as bad and is still as bad as it was in those regards in the original and MCC, then it stands to reason tgat H1 and 2 were and still are just as bad in those regards. these are probably more easily fixed than making H3, ODST, 4, and CE:A bc, and since they have had 2 or 3 years to fix this crap and add what the other halos had that MCC didn’t and the ONLY things we got were a remake of a map that thanks to their forge additions was probably already remade like i expected almost every other map in the series within the first month of it’s release which really irritates me, and a dlc for ODST campaign
please 343 if by the off chance you ever read this explain this to me, even you would agree that you left much to be desired in what a lot of people (myself included) thought would be one of if not the best thing to happen to halo in years

Meh I personally have had much different experiences than you I guess, the original H3 runs way smoother than h3 on mcc for me. Bottom line though I do agree with you halo Mcc should have had more attention and repairs it’s sad that they kind of forgot about it and it’s fan base
Because the MCC is broken, and PALES in comparison to the other games in terms of content and quality.
