Help me understand how Halo 5 is any fun anymore?

I’ve been away from the game for some time and came back some month ago, but I’ve never since had “fun”.

There’s no game where I’ve longed after another game of, this…

Halo 5 isn’t for us who rarely play the game, us casuals. Atleast that’s how it feels, being gone for some time.

I’ve tried Social - Teamkilled or stomped on.
I’ve tried Arena - I do not belong there.
I’ve tried Warzone - Tripple capped or spawed killed or getting req’ed whilst I’m sitting here at lvl 4 and nothing to spawn in with w/o losing it within the next 5sec.

Help me understand were Halo 5 is “fun”.

It’s fun to me in heroic warzone firefight, pretty easy mode and using some of the req weapons is fun. For fun in arena super fiesta and super fiesta BTB is great. This new roaming king is hella fun IMO, going to go through all my legendary XP boost in it tonight more likely.

I love how the skill ceiling is high in this game but I do wonder if it is daunting for players who don’t play consistently. However, I don’t think it would be right to lower the skill ceiling for Infinite. Did you find past Halos fun? If you did, what did they have that Halo 5 is missing?

Well Halo 5 has a high skill ceiling but the skill floor is also pretty high which wasn’t the case in other halos. In this game a lot of the skill comes from the movement and not as much the shooting. Having all the abilities is a lot of things to manage soo if you don’t play often it can be a bit overwhelming.

Personally I don’t find getting kills as rewarding as in past halos. Like in Halo 3 getting a 4 shot with the BR or a no scope with the sniper was very satisfying because it wasn’t easy to do. The amount of bullet magnetism in this game is pretty high but it had to happen because of the abilities

You could ask the same question about literally every other game. I can’t give a reason as to why I think Halo 5 is fun, I just do.

But, if you don’t find Halo 5 fun, the great thing is that you don’t need to play it.

Halo 5 is Hyper competitive, but not sure what FPS isn’t these days. For me I have fun playing with friends, even if we get stomped sometimes. Fire fight is always a good time, think you might need to find a playlist to consistently play in until you feel comfortable elsewhere.

Halo 5 isn’t fun because if you’re too good, you have to play solo or not at all. The matchmaking system doesn’t want landslide matches, so to prevent this… You simply can’t play as a group.

The campaign is mediocre.

Forge has to be online.

Custom game browser is vanity tower slowmo assassinations or clan recruitment.

Population is gone.

The best way to level is boring firefight.

Fun can only be found/understood/experienced by the person concerned, because it will be diffierent for each person. I find playing golf fun, most people would hate it, i find SF to be fun here, partly seeing what weapons you get and what you can do with them, but, mainly because I know most of the maps and where I need to be on them.

I don’t really get it. Warzone isn’t that fun if you aren’t stacked with REQs and the multilayer, both social and arena, are taken way too seriously by everyone playing so there isn’t really a game mode that you can just play for fun. At least that’s been my experience with it

Always repetative

Halo has always been hyper-competitive in my experience and judging from the very vocal people on these forums it’s going to stay that way. If anything, Halo 5 is the easiest to play, because they tell you power weapon spawns and there are hit markers and stuff. In earlier Halos, I can guarantee I’m going to die 3-5 times at least from a power weapon I never knew was on the map because the try-hards will take it as soon as it spawns so I never have a chance at getting it, or even learning the spawn. So that’s why I always say 343 is screwed, cause if they make it more casual to fit people like the OP then the try-hards riot and if they make it hyper-competitive like earlier Halos then people like OP just won’t play.

Reminds me of my time in World of Tanks Mercenaries. Despite going solo and getting bad matches every now and then, there’s something about rolling around the battlefield in a hulking steel monster.

For me yes because its the only game update every week
And the playlist It’s a lot of fun

Since the CSR/MMR changes, I feel like the population fell off a cliff. We only seem to match laggy, out of region teams in the high-diamond to low-onyx ranking and it just isn’t fun trying to fight against a good team AND game-breaking lag.

We played some Halo 3 on MCC last night and it was the most fun we’ve had playing halo in a long while.
