Who doesn’t love it when the classic and mthic playlists come into rotation?
Say what you want about Halo 5, the forge and custom game options were top notch. Once you got rid of all the sprint, loaded in with Halo1 magnums or Halo 2 BRs, and drop you into the 1:1 classic maps that the incredible forgers created for us… It really still feels like Halo. Well my Spartan Company aims to set the standard settings for maps to follow (all those trick jumps need to work), and comb through the thousands of maps to find the best Halo CE, 2, 3, Reach, and even Halo 4 recreations. We all have our favorite Halo multiplayer and even with the MCC, sometimes it feels good to jump into these classic games in the latest Halo. We also have the Mythic playlist, which to me was the perfect new playlist. With new maps built around old school gameplay, it was a breath of fresh air.
Our goal is to categorize, share, and showcase these maps and gametypes… and make it easier for all of our classic family to get together and play these with custom game nights. I’ll be launching a Discord, a YouTube channel, a Patreon, Twitch, Twitter… the works. the most helpful Spartans can even make some money if this idea takes off. But the goal is to create a strong community and play the Halo we want to play.
Who we need the most…
A forger… to help fix maps that are already great, but maybe they’re missing a trick jump or 3
A badass player… somebody who knows the old maps…the jumps, the sightlines, what makes these maps important
Content creators… Already got some fllowers on YouTube or Twitch? Let’s cross-promote
Platform managers… This is probably my role, but anybody who knows the ins and outs of Discord, Squarespace, etc… I can use all the help I can get
A community… people just here to play with one another
Maps we need…
Halo 1, 2, 3, 4, and Reach recreations that follow the same movement/loadout settings for optimal gameplay
Other games recreated in Forge… Doom style maps? Let’s go…
Classic custom games… I also want the best Race maps, Paintball maps, 1v1s…
I wanted to get this going for Infinite’s release, but with that being probably 3 months away, and forge coming probably 6 months after that… Let’s get a Halo 5 database up and running, because it looks like that’s where custom games are gonna stay for a while.
