This isnt really explained well in-game so im still not sure about it
In halo 4, sprinting and walking would show up on enemy radar, and crouch walking would not
Has that changed in halo 5? I cant tell because there is a tip that says moving at anything faster than walk speed will show up which leads me to believe that walking would not show up on radar
but then when ive tried walking up to people without sprinting they suddenly turn around and it just seems like i showed up on their radar for sure
i want to know definitively so i can change how i play accordingly
You can “walk” and be off the motion tracker. That’s kind of the key thing you may not understand- it’s a motion tracker. It tracks motion above a certain speed. The crouching isn’t what keeps you off the motion tracker- it’s the fact you can’t move quickly while crouched. So if you want to stay off the motion tracker while upright, move at the speed one typically moves while crouched In short- it’s the same as H4.
Walking at full speed, sprinting, and firing a weapon will all show up on an enemy motion tracker. Unless you are in Warzone and have Advanced Sensors as your chosen Armor Mod, walking as fast as possible will appear on an enemy’s tracker.

So basically, if i walk forward with left stick pushed all the way forward it will show up. If i push it forward slightly and slow walk then it wont show up?

Yea thats interesting i did think it was crouching specifically. But what i dont like about this system is theres nothing defining the exact speed at which you cross the line
they should change it otherwise its unpredictable i might think im moving slow enough but end up being on the radar

If you want to remain off the motion tracker reliably just crouch and don’t worry about it. It’s what I’ve always done.

Basically, yes. If you walk with the left thumbstick pushed forward slightly, you shouldn’t show up on the tracker. In most cases though, it’s easier to just crouch walk.
