So in just looking through the menus I accidentally turned on the 3D setting while on a non-3D tv… and apparantly resetting the console doesn’t undo this option… and now my TV just displays “not supported” whenever I start anniversary… how am I supposed to fix this?
Buy a new TV
OT: so there is no way for you to get to any options menu to turn the feature off? Sounds like a massive problem. Hope you fix it.
The game is running, I just cant see anything. Because my tv isnt 3D it just displays a black screen with white text that says “not supported”. I’m going to see if I can sign in with another profile and write down the button strokes to navigate to the menu to shut it back off. Or if someone else could just do that for me that would be awesome too.
Edit: Opening the game with no-one signed in lets me see again!
Open game with no profiles signed in, go to menu where the 3d option is, bring up the XBOX360 dashboard display, sign in, when the dashboard disappears, hit left or right on the left analog stick, press “a”, continue.
Should work.
I can’t do anything from the main menu unless a profile is signed in. As in, pressing start on the main menu to go to options whith no-one signed in results in a popup saying “you must sign in to adjust settings” or something along those lines…
I have the button strokes down, the only problem is one I hit left on the 3D option, I have no idea what kind of warning popup comes up. (like on saying “are you sure? A for yes B for no” Without knowing what that menu looks like I can’t react to it as hitting the switch on the menu list for “3D” doesn’t just fix it.
Keep trying different buttons. Something’s bound to work.
I’ve tried. If I can’t see anything. going beyond the button strokes I’ve written down could take me anywhere and get me lost in the menus. I need someone with a 3D TV to go press the 3D’s off switch and tell me what pops up.
This is ridiculous. I tried erasing all content associated with the game and Im still unable to view the game.
Did you figure out the button presses yet?

From signing into the 3D enabled profile:
B- gets you out of the home button version of the dashboard
Wait -for the “select storage device option to pop up”
A-Selects the first storage device, then I think it automatically brings up the (video, settings, controls) menu
down- to highlight video settings
A- to enter the video settings option list
down
down
down- gets you on the 3D setting, but this game seems ultra sensitive to the thumbstick so you might overshoot it.
Then I think either tapping left or hitting A switches the option to “disabled” for the 3D, but since it doesnt revert back after about 10 seconds I’m guissing some kind of “are you sure?” menu pops up and without knowing how that menu looks, I can’t react to it.
got it
just hit B a few time to assure your at title screen then
start down a down down down right
back to good
That didn’t work, but starting the game up on the xbox’s composite video cables shut it off. Thanks for trying to help though! Now we have ways to reverse it if it happens again.
I realize that this is for Halo but this forum is the first result that comes up when someone enters “accidentally turned on 3d xbox 360” so I’m posting this here for the GHOST RECON FUTURE SOLIDER crowd.
The component cable trick stops working once you revert to an HDMI cable. The only way to go back into 2D mode is the hard way (to my knowledge). Here are the steps:
Wait for the screen to go blank (when it converts over to 3D mode). Once the screen is blank, perform the following steps:
Hit START (this logs you into the Ubisoft servers)
Hit DOWN four times and then “A” (this selects “Extras”)
Hit “A” again (this selects “Options”)
Hit DOWN six times and then “A” (this toggles the 3D option)
You should be able to see your game at this point. Now stop randomly pushing buttons . Please repost in other forums to spread the word.
For My T.V the option just doesn’t show up. Well it does, but it’s grayed out
Reset EVERYTHING you can.
Plug your T.v and Xbox out, then back in
Uninstall then reinstall Halo CEA,
… etc.
Make another profile and change the settings, perhaps?
Or if you’ve got a Kinect you could probably just say “3d off”
Excuse the double post, Waypoint was acting up (again).

I GOT THE PROPER ANSWER!
-
Go into Halo with a guest account
-
When in the main menu press the start button and sign into the account with the issue
-
Wait for about 30 seconds and then start spamming “B”
-
After a good amount of spamming “B” do it some more
-
In consecutive order press “start” then the “down button”
then “A” and finally press “Y”
If this doesn’t work start again from step 3 or insult me.
