i got a new pc for christmas and finished setting it up yesterday. after installing halo 2 vista, i went to activate my game and it was saying my key has already been used (i know some games will not let you use on more then 1 pc). which then i activated over the telephone and it said my game was activated successfully. i start the game up and try to login to live but i can not because it is saying my key has been exceeded. what gives? i am still using my same account and i did activate the game when i installed. does anyone know how to fix this?
Yeesh, never heard of that one before. I personally don’t know what the problem is but if you wait patiently I’m sure someone can help you. If not, contact Microsoft again or look on Google, 343 doesn’t control Halo 2 Vista.
Yeah there’s bug for some people who activate the game outside of it. The safest way to activate the game is to click activate later, do everything and then activate it when trying to sign into live.
My only help for you is try Microsoft support (but don’t get your hopes up), or buy a new copy of Halo 2 (PC).
I had the same problem, stopped playing for a while then the code became valid again :).
good news! i contacted microsoft yesterday and told them what happen and the guy i was on the phone with was able to reactivate my key again. good to know microsoft still supports an old game. anyway, after logging in, i tried to play online but the live stats were showing not available. again i tried to play online a few minutes ago and still showing the same results. i also downloaded all updates the game was asking for. am i missing something?

You’re going to be disappointing when you finally get online. If it isn’t Coagulation or Lockout the player count is always under 5 people per game. I’d like to start a BTB lobby where the maps are Terminal, Containment, Relic, Waterworks and all the other big maps that never go remade luvinz.

And also the loadouts are horrible. The servers always choose either random power weapon loadouts or battle rifle and sword
I can’t play Halo 2 PC on this account, so if I want to play over Live, i have to login on my old, silver account, but still it has times when it won’t work.If indeed, this would be the problem, try to create a new profile, i’d say it works just if you play on silver account, but I must be wrong.Sure is somebody here that plays as a gold member.

Is your XBL Gold Account part of a Family Gold Account? Mine is and I’m unable to access Multiplayer. I’ll need to remove my account from Family Gold and make it a standalone. Source from b.net
