Help!!! Banned???

Hi everyone,
I just got the message saying I was banned from earning XP and I really don’t know why… I read all the forum info on the bans and as far as I can tell I haven’t violated any of the three bullet points. I am hardwired to my router with 50mb/s Internet so there isn’t network problems (as far as I know). I am, honestly to technologically stupid to alter the software, hardware or anything else to cheat, (I didn’t even know that was possible). And I always finish my games (even when my wife is yelling at me that it’s time I go, yesterday). I live with just my wife and two cats (who I know aren’t getting on my account)

In short I know the ban program is supposed to be good, but it must have messed up this time… Does anyone know how to get ahold of an admin or someone who can help? Or at least tell me why I am banned. I don’t think I’m soon anything but if I am I don’t know that I am…

Any help is appreciated.

MattRobbie

Looking at your service record, you have multiple Flood games were your guests aren’t getting any kills at all, flagging them for AFKing.

This is likely what caused your ban.

Update, I bought the map pass when the game first came out and up until now have had all of the map packs… But they have removed my Castle Map pack and when I try to renown load they want to make me pay again for it… Not sure this is related.

Of course they weren’t getting any Kills! It was their first time playing Halo! Which is the whole reason we played flood instead of rumble pit or team slayer (no team relies on them, etc. it’s just survival and hide and run). It was actually one of their first time playing Xbox… I can’t believe Halo would ban people for introducing other people to… Halo…

That’s what sucks about it really, there is no way to tell apart an AFK player from a new player to the game and the system doesn’t take any chances.

You should probably know that it is all automated and there is no way to appeal

No appeals at all? How do I get ahold of who ever is in charge of this system. And how do I tell how long it lasts?

Honestly, it doesn’t seem like a very well programmed system if it is so indiscriminate that it can’t tell the difference between new players and cheating.

=[

Like I said, the system is automated. The sustain team obviously check it regularly to make sure it’s still running but as far as the system can see, those players were AFK.

First time bans tend to last for 24-48 hours.
Once again, there is no appeal system

Hey, OP. Like Moa said, judging by your Service Record, there was some Afk’ing Flood, which is why you have been banned from earning XP. If you want to know more about it, refer to Halo 4 Ban FAQ

Ok… 24 hours isn’t bad…

I guess I’ll have to tell people that they have to get at least a few kills each game if they are going to play online with me from now on. 343’s loss, really. A few less people to get addicted to an otherwise awesome game.

Thanks for your help Riot and Moa.

You can still play. Once you hit SR130 you’re essentially banned from earning XP anyways. And I’m pretty sure the system can differentiate between AFK players and stumps with thumbs. You don’t have to get kills to be moving, jumping, and shooting.

Seeing as they do not have the ability to hire people to actively monitor every single game ever played on MM, it actually is good. Plus seeing as this does effect a player’s CSR if their team isnt backing them up, it kinda is needed.

There is no way to appeal to get your ban removed. If you get flagged, that’s it.First is 24-48 hours. 2nd time is longer. I’d picked Spartan Ops , or customs, next time if you have friends who haven’t gotten used to Halo yet.

The ban hammer can’t detect moving, jumping or shooting. Just kills, deaths, assists, medals, etc.

If a player has multiple deaths but no kills, medals, etc then they’re likely gonna get flagged for a ban.

If you played Reach during its time, you’d are why this was needed.

Then the system is horribly broken. There’s no reason it shouldn’t be able to detect that. My car logs more data then that.
