Does anyone know what the odds of getting the SCANNER helmet are? What are the easiest/fastest ways to get it?

Scanner is Ultra Rare. It can only be obtained in Gold Packs.

Because of the RNG nature of the REQ system, it’s very difficult to figure out the unlock percentage of a specific item. It’s all down to luck; some have nabbed a sweet item before SR 50, others had to grind out everything just to get one item well into the SR 140 range. For now, I’d recommend wailing on those Silver Packs before moving onto Gold Packs to increase your chances of getting Scanner.
Im SR 49. Just grinding out those silver req packs until i stop getting any armor from them.

Those numbers aren’t made public, at least not in the US. But since you can’t get repeat permanents in Halo 5, every time you don’t get Scanner then the odds increase for getting it in the next pack.
Its an Ultra Rare Helmet so gold packs, but if you wanna save time and money you should keep buying silver packs to get rid of the uncommon-rare reqs and Then buy gold packs. Its a way more efficient way to get rarer reqs

If you want the maths, you’ll have to do them yourself. Game devs purposefully don’t release that info because it doesn’t help player retention when you see your chance for a Mythic item is below 1%. If you want something more then conjecture, you can’t rely on others to provide that info for you. You’ll have to create an experiment to measure the odds, either by yourself or surveying others, both options having their own unique difficulties and caveats.

you can also try your luck with the greatest hit pack in the Xbox store its $10 i got the scanner helmet on my 3rd pack

Not that I’m trying to encourage the REQ system, but I do see other games publish draw rates for loot crates and such. They’re mainly for newly released items or ones that share a theme, like the Memories of Reach pack. Also I’ve seen players complain about the “vague” pack descriptions and misinterpret how the helmets and armors weren’t guaranteed. Well if the draw rates were included, it’d make it more obvious. Would it discourage players from buying packs? I doubt it, but at least they’re better aware of their chances.

Yes, but I don’t have infinite amounts of money to spend on multiple $10 REQ paks, unlike dishonest 6-year olds. Not you, just in general.

Of course I’m just looking for conjecture. When I find the time to calculate the odds, I’ll post it here if anyone wants.
It makes sense MS and 343 wouldn’t tell about the odds, I’ll probably be heartbroken when I find the really low chance.
Then I’ll resume grinding for SCANNER.
As others have said, just grind out Silver packs until you get REQ point returns, and then move on to Gold packs. Shouldn’t take long.
Anyway, have fun with bureaucrats. They’re gonna love having a mobile printer on the battlefield, especially when they have to requisition a kill and need the proper paper work to do so.
