Will I need to re-do this in Halo MCC for it to count towards the armor progress?

You have to complete all the games on legendary on the MCC in order for it to count; however helioskrill is in the req system so you could just grind for packs and get it.

That’s not nice that’s stupid, I don’t get why they make everything available through Reqs
It’s the main reason why no one cares about recon anymore.
It really devalues it. I started wearing it again recently because even though anyone can get it it’s one of the few things in this game I actually earned and it looks nice~

check your achievements i had done everything but no armor so I checked and I had to do 80% of ce again and regret H2.

Recon has been easily attainable since Reach. And they gave it out to everyone on Halo 3 a year after Reach came out. Recon was all the rage of Halo 3 but it was nothing special after that.

Except when they revealed how to get Helioskrill, they said that it’d be in the REQ system shortly after launch so it really doesn’t change anything at all.
No one cares about Recon anymore because that was something just for Halo 3 and because it was tied to Bungie’s website, it was forced to be given out to everyone when the switch to 343i happened. Having all the Vidmasters done is still a huge achievement and the people who earned Recon did so rightfully. Everyone having it four years after Halo 3 released does not take away from that at all.
Reach’s big thing was the Haunted helmet and lightning. If you had those, you were basically held at the same status as owning Recon when Halo 3 was still the big Halo game. Recon was a pre-order bonus for that game. It meant nothing.
The REQ system has nothing to do with that so stop twisting history so that you can blindly bash on the REQ system
Apart from helioskrill being in the reqs I would still encourage people to complete the MCC on legendary for achievements and for bragging rights. So don’t give up, just because the armour is claimable through a RNG system. It’s a legendary anyway so it will take some time to get by eliminating all the other reqs.

True. Even though I’d prefer Req Pack grinding since I don’t have MCC.
It does stink they put it in the req pool. I earned mine through MCC and stopped wearing it shortly after it was added into the req system. But as some say MCC achievements being bugged is probably why they did it. I had to replay a few missions in each one to get them to register as completed.

Exactly why I stopped wearing it. Then started wearing it again. The original Heloskrill looks better than the REQ ones, in my opinion.
So wait a minute, a regular dude can just get this helmet in a req? What the YOINK! Someone who grinded the legendary campaigns actually earned the helmet but someone can just get it in a req pack. That’s not really a good idea.

The Helioskrill and its variants were added to the REQ pool a long time ago.

Yeah, the Warbound is a close second though.
Damn I tried Halo CE with a mate and I don’t remember it being that hard. Like Halo 5 was way easier on Legendary.
