I recently went through the trouble of unlocking Helioskrill via completing every halo MCC campaign on legendary and was wondering if anyone else still feels accomplished after unlocking this armor? After I unlocked it I didn’t really feel accomplished since my friends manged to get the warbound and bloodgorger variants.I know this was a complaint back during the update which added the two variants but my question is does anyone still think this armor is worth it anymore?

I unlocked it from req packs in Halo 5, so no I don’t.

I think the complaint was that regular Helioskrill, not just the two variants, can now be unlocked from req packs, so it’s no longer exclusive to people who got the MCC achievement.

Worth getting from req packs in Halo 5? Maybe, if you like how it looks (I don’t). Worth getting from the MCC achievement? Probably not, unless you were gonna do that anyway.
I earned my Helioskrill by completing the MCC campaigns… I took it off shortly after they added it to the req pool. It was really really lame they did that. It was lame they even made variants and added them to the req pool as well. But to me it’s still worth going through the MCC campaigns even though they ruined the helioskrill armor set. But I am one of the few remaining that like getting achievements and increasing my Halo gamer score.
It sucks they made it part of the regular pool and added variants. Because of that questionable move, the only value remaining is having the sense of satisfaction knowing you unlocked the armor by completing a task (unlocking the achievement). Plus, it’s one less item to have to spend RP on packs for.
That’s basically what it amounted to for me, when solely discussing Helioskrill. I ended up not using the armor because that sense of value mentioned above eventually ran out and I didn’t find the armor set to be special anymore. I also don’t particularly like the way it looks, so it became just another set in the pile. One of my friends thinks it looks like a parrot and I agree with that haha.

I think it looks cool its just that me wearing this helmet just dosent feel right. I’m literally wearing a helmet i spent at least a week to unlock while other’s got one by paying.

I always thought it looked more like an insect of some sort.

Well the OP claims he did it recently and there has never been anything said that you can’t so I will say you should be able to. The only think is these server side achievements can be buggy and slow but plenty of players have done it.

Yes you can, I did it earlier this month.
I love the armor and am proud to wear it. I also like that it’s made by the Sangheili and reminds me of the Arbiter’s armor.

Yes its still possible but in my opinion don’t do it unless you just like the helmet because honestly it aint worth it
Yeah I got it thru MCC as well prior to it’s availability thru packs. Problem was the other two helio varients are better looking, so why wear it. Was definitely lame to alienate the people willing to spend time and money on MCC, by making it available thru packs. Halo has always been bad about rewarding the players willing to invest time in completing campaign achievements.

Yes because i had to do SOMETHING to unlock it and it wasnt rng.
No because i unlocked it befor the beta without realizing it was a thing because i default to playing halo on legendary for fun. So it wasnt like i had to really do anything anyway for it.

You don’t have to pay for REQ Packs. I got my from REQ Packs that I earned the points to open.

Yes you don’t need to pay for the helmet what I’m trying to say is that the fact that its in the req packs just ruins it for me.There’s not reason to even attempt the legend achievement anymore when you could just pay or grind points to get it out of req packs

Doesn’t cheapen the achievement it just cheapens the armor. In previous titles we had armors that represented some sort of Halo achievement. Helioskrill was the only set that was truly earned there for a little while which made it unique in a way. They ruined it by adding it to the req pool with variants.

I wear armor based on what I think looks cool, not based on how many people have it or what it represents. Hence why I didn’t where Achilles upon getting it; to me, it looked ugly. Helioskrill, too, looks ugly to me. So I didn’t get this feeling of the armor being “cheapened”. But even if I would have found the armor aesthetically pleasing, that wouldn’t have changed just because 90% of other players were wearing it.

It’s kinda depressing you can get the variant through reqs because I didn’t do the entire mcc and got it in a pack it’s stupid because people that didn’t work don’t deserve it like Achilles
