I am not sure if this news has reached the Waypoint forums yet, but Josh Holmes confirmed on twitter that Helioskrill can be unlocked through req packs.
It has come here, and it sucks.

Well there wen’t the whole point to that armor. It was bad enough that its not the best looking but now there really is no point for it.

Its odds of being found are miniscule, so I’m just glad I had an easy, guaranteed way to knock 8 legendarys/mythics off of the list of things I have to un-locke. This way, If i get a legendary/mythic, its a new armor guaranteed.
That being said, i am a LITTLE dissapointed that the achievement based ones arent exclusive. If they were, only MCC owners would have MK VI with a codpiece, Nightfall, and helioskrill.
