So. I just ran level two on CE with only the bandana skull on, and I completed the mission but did not get the level completion achievement.
In the mission select screen it shows that I’ve completed the mission on legendary - but I have no level completion in my achievements.
Do I need level completion achievements, or will completing missions on legendary using the bandana skull (and boom skull and grunt funeral skull) give credit towards the helioskrill armor?
I’ve been told many conflicting answers and I’m confused to all hell. What exactly do I need to do to get credit for the armor unlocking?
I really appreciate the help and clarification.

With Halo CE’s bandanna skull turned on in MCC, it blocks specific achievements. However, you can bypass this simply by turning off scoring/timing, giving you the completion.
The scoring and time hud was already turned off and I didn’t get the level completion achievement. However, it shows the mission was completed on legendary in the mission select screen for that level.
If you complete a level using any skull with a score multiplier lower than 1.00x, you won’t get achievements for completing it in Normal, Heroic, or Legendary.
It’s not an error, it is made like that so you don’t get the achievements for “cheating”.

I keep seeing this bit of misinformation repeated over and over again.
“Cheat skulls” ie skulls with a 0 multiplier only disable score and par time achievements. All other achievements are still available.
ONLY PAR TIME AND SCORE ACHIEVEMENTS ARE DISABLED BY “CHEAT SKULLS” WITH A 0.00 MULTIPLIER. This is per the wiki and my own personal experience.
Sorry, OP, sounds like the game just glitched out on you. The MCC is still a buggy mess. When I beat the par score on outskirts it didn’t register until I played it again but the second time I took my sweet time because I was skull hunting and I got the par score achievement. Sometimes the achievments don’t trigger until days later.

**Are you absolutely sure?**Because I have yet to see anybody getting the Legendary-related achievement with the Scarab Skull on.
Bandana and all other 0 multiplier skulls disable score, time, and completion cheevos. You need to do it without for it to count.

Can confirm, got the Legendary achievement for CE with bandanna on last week and just got Legendary achievement for 2 with Sacarb and Bandanna turned on this morning.
Time to tackle 3 and 4 but those are easy enough that the lack of bandanna doesn’t matter.
I’ve completed halo 1-4 in the original single games and halo CE and halo 5 all on Legendary with no skulls. Have got the legend achievement but still no Helioskill armour? WHY?!?!?!
