Helioskril. It’s awesome. I love it, you love it, we all want it! So a friend told me that in order to unlock it I will need to have the “Legend” achievement BEFORE the Guardians beta on the 29th… Can anyone confirm this? I have been remodeling my bedroom (and game room) for the past month and just finished in time to enjoy Christmas with my family. Thus I haven’t played all month and still need to grind that achievement. I really hope he’s wrong so I don’t need to no life it and speed run ALL FOUR campaigns in only 3 days solo!
Legendary. Solo. Halo CE’s Library. Halo 2’s snipers. Halo 3’s long missions and Cortana. Halo 4’s bullet sponges. In 3 days. I’m scared. *shudders
Must I sentence myself to this cruel fate or is there still hope? Can I unlock it AFTER the beta?

Not sure why everyone thinks you have to do it solo. Read the Legend achievo description, you can do it co-op.

I know I don’t need to do it solo but none of my friends are available right now to do it besides maybe one and I doubt he wants to do the whole thing with me.
I don’t think you need to get the achievement by the 29th. You just need to get the achievement before or during the Beta period. It would be stupid to lock you out of an armor set for the majority of the beta just because you didn’t get the achievement until the 30th. Regardless, if you don’t get the achievement before the Beta ends I’m sure you’ll still get the armor set in the full game so long as you have the Legend achievement.
You do NOT need to unlock the achievement before the 29th, you can still get it in the beta and for the full game in the 3 months of beta time we have. If you do not get the achievement before or during the beta, you can still get it afterwards and use it in the full game.
I’m pretty sure everyone is wrong in here. You have until January 18 (When beta ends) or before to unlock the achievement and this armor is 100% exclusive for the beta players, so if you haven’t beat the campaigns by then you will never get the armor.
I think it looks rather silly. I don’t mind missing out on it at all. Even if I bother getting MCC before it’s fixed (if it ever is), I won’t go to all that effort for… that.

I like elites. If I can’t play as one I want to look as much like one as possible. Plus I like the more “drawn” look of the armor, almost a fantasy look. Certainly unique but not overly so to the point of being gaudy like Hayabusa was

I will admit it does look unique and a lot better than the vast majority of Halo 4 armours, but I prefer the simple, classic, military armour look. I like Elites too, but I’d rather play as an actual Elite than a Spartan dressed up like an Elite

Do you know if they released anything confirming this? I haven’t been able to find anything directly from 343 (unless I’m blind) saying this. The only thing I have to go off of is everyone in the community and most say it will unlock when the game releases. Any clarification would be great. Thanks!
I noticed that the Helioskrill helmet makes your head more visible. The hit-box is the same, as far as I can tell, but you are slightly easier to spot when using it. The hit-box for headshots is bigger than the actual head, but with Helioskrill it seems to be about as big as the helmet, and that is the biggest helmet so far. They need to shrink the helmet size to no bigger than any other helmet.

I hope that’s not the case. I’m a huge completionist.
