A lot of people, including myself, have been pushing for a Falcon to be added into Halo 5 and/or be put in Halo 6. Yet today as I was playing the Halo 3 level The Covenant for the fifty bajillionth time this afternoon, I realized what I’d forgot about.
The Hornet. How could I be so stupid as to forget the Hornet!? Variants of a Hornet would be easy, just go Regular, Oni, and Hannibal.
I’ve always been a fan of that snow map (Avalanche? Snowbound?) because my friends and I would load up a Hornet with a guy on the Lazer and the guy on Rocket. Ground vehicle destroyer.
Anyway, since we aren’t having a Halo 3 anniversary, at the very least I want a content drop for Halo 5, consisting of perhaps Hornets, Spikers, Prowlers/Choppers, and a Flamethrower. Maybe it’s too much to hope for.
Let me know what you guys think.
Aside from the lack of passenger seats, the Wasp and Phaeton basically fill the role of the Hornet. I really don’t see much of a reason to add the Hornet as a result.
It’s my fav.
The Hornet is a little big for what it does. I’ll stick with the Wasp.
I think the Wasp fills that role already for WZ. In Arena, it’s already bad enough with BTB and I don’t want another flying vehicle in it.
The hornet doesn’t fit the Halo aesthetic feel. I’m supposed to believe a one man piloted aircraft is supposed to hold both that much ordinance and 2 people on the tiny side brackets? No thanks, it’s a visual eye sore on the battle field and no one waits for passengers who have no defense once on it.
I would rather have the hornet rather than the wasp or falcon. I want a locust added. That would be sweet.
The Wasp already fills the role the Hornet does. Besides I wouldn’t use it with passengers, that’s a free triple kill waiting to happen and I’m not going to put myself in that position.
The infamous “Free Flying Triple” was the Falcon, and so long as there weren’t any Splazers on the map a half decent pilot could avoid rockets.
I never recall the Hornet being a Free Flying Double or Triple, but to be honest people rarely loaded them up with other players.
I just feel like Halo 5 (maybe just arena) in general could use a flying vehicle that requires some teamwork.
Idk what these other people are talking about the hornet would be amazing. The wasp feels kinda lame to me. I used to do the same thing with the laser and rockets on avalanche xD
We got the Hornet again recently, in H2A multiplayer. We haven’t had the Falcon since Reach.
I’d like both, with some old Covenant ground vehicles.
I’ve thought about how to differentiate it from the Wasp before, and I think I have a solution. I would give the Hornet double the armor, but no shields. It wouldn’t move as fast as the wasp does, but it’s guns would be more accurate and do more damage. The missiles would move slower, but track both air and ground vehicles. And, of course, it could hold 2 passengers.

Yes you are hoping too much. Forget it. No more things that fans want are coming. I am very sure of it…

It’s a no bigger eye sore than the scorpion and mantis lol

I’ve been saying this for awhile, especially after they added the waso.ai was saying to myself why create an all new aerial vehicle when you already had one waiting in the wings

Not a bad idea. Still, I would rather swap out the wasp for a Hornet any day.

Yes it is. How much sci-fi do you dabble in? The single barrel tank and walker mech are probably the most Halo thing in the human category.
What about the nightingale from hw2?

Why? I like the wasp. It moves fast and can be incredibly deadly in the right situations.

That just heals units. It wouldn’t be a fun vehicle to fly if you just went around healing everyone.
