"Heavy" weapons in Halo 4

“Heavy” Weapons were a new feature introduced in Halo 3, where you would pick up a heavy turret, missile-launcher, or a Flamethrower. And move to 3rd person view. Unfortunately while wielding these weapons you moved ridiculously slow, and ultimately these weapons never saw the light of day because of it (aside from the odd missile Pod on Valhalla).

Halo Reach removed 2 of these weapons, leaving us with just the standard human and covenant turret. But again, most of these weapons just aren’t worth picking up due to their lack of mobility, and overall firepower.

But I think these weapons, while handled poorly, still have a chance in the Halo sandbox.

All they really need is bang for their buck (which Reach admittedly did a much better job at), and a less drastic movement speed decrease. Say, on the level of ODST, instead of Halo 3/Reach. It may be a heavy turret, but you are STILL a Spartan.

It would also be nice if you could choose to spawn with these weapons in Custom Games. I’ve always wanted to have a “Heavy” loadout option.

i think they should introduce an LMG like an m249 para but halo-ised odviously but u know it would be realy effective and useful, and seeming they have the chance to change and add things into this new trilogy i think it would be a nice add on

First of all, commas and periods, second, I agree. I think an LMG should look like the Halo 2 Turret, as that thing was pretty small.

haha i know im yoink at english :stuck_out_tongue: and i dunno ive never used the halo 2 turret

Covies had the compact turret in Halo 2 as well.

Also, the turning speed got slowed down.

The only thing you could do to increase movement speed was to juggle it or move the left stick to the right while moving forward which would give you a slight speed boost.

The Flamethrower was only useful against Pure Forms. On Floodgate, until then, you had to drag that thing from the warehouse all the way to the area with the Pure Forms. The only thing that it could really be used on were those 2 Carrier Forms.

It also removed using them in the passenger seat of the hog (was in the Beta as a glitch). That would have been a feature I’d have enjoyed because finally, we would get to use them in an epic manner.

I agree. They shouldn’t be abandoned.

I agree, the turrets and flamethrower need to return as secondary pick up weapons.
