Credit to FTC Saber for this idea, but I realized it’s the best middle ground option.
I always hated how speed is reduced for carrying a turret because it makes you an easy target. However, being able to maintain speed and shoot can be pretty overpowered (See Halo 5, for example)
So what if you move at full speed only while not shooting? Like the Heavy from Team Fortress 2? That way you can get around the map at a reasonable pace but not be too powerful when fighting enemies.
I think that would be fine as long as the weapon was strong enough to warrant a speed reduction, the main thing I want to see is impact! I want to know when someone is shooting it, its a turret so give it some hefty feel
I think I kinda like that fix. I personally never felt too bad carrying turrets in the previous Halo games. Sure it was slow, but that was the risk I was willing to take. I think the bigger issue I had was that the turrets just weren’t strong enough, for the most part. Halo 5 kinda fixed that though.

I agree. Risk Reward was more there in Halo 5. I like the suggestion of reducing speed when firing for Infinite given the difference in mechanics between Infinite and H5.
I’d also like to see turrets gain range amd accuracy when on their mounts, to make them more worth not tearing off than just infinite ammo.
