Heavy ruining Big Team Battle?

It’s all that’s ever voted for.

I miss objective.

Big Team Battle should be just objective based games. That’s what a ‘big battle’ is. I hope slayer AND heavies DO NOT return to the Big Team Battle playlist. That eliminates teamwork.

On the other hand, objective based gametypes encourage teamwork and are much more enjoyable. You have to really work as a team, whilst killing people at the same time. Essentially, you’re using slayer and an objective gametype at the same time.

That’s my vision for Big Team Battle in Halo 4.

my vision of BTB in Halo has always been about lots of big vehicles and weapons and big open maps and just have and all out war on it. I hate it where you were placed on a big map with barely any vehicles and weapons that did not provide any efficiency to the map and gametype I was happy a more heavier style for BTB was introduced in reach and hopefully halo 4.

Well I think each team should have some sort of heavy object whether its a vehicle or a weapon in a slayer game type. Plus I find that if you’re team has a tank it would encourage team work because you wouldn’t want to loose your tank, so everyone can help protect it from people trying to destroy it.

Realistically…there is no way that BTB should be simply objective gametypes. Yes, that would be great, but people do not join BTB to play as a team, people join this when they have more than 4 people that want to play, or a guest that wants to play and not die over and over, or people that just want all out heavy warfare. I personally love heavies, everything is there from regular slayer, just with some more vehicles and weapons. If you want to play objective or a bigger gametype, then do Team Objective or Super Slayer. BTB is great as is. But then again, this is coming from someone who embraces change and has and will love every Halo game released.

I agree.

And in my opinion 1 sided objectives are better than 2 sided objectives as the action is 1000x better. Imagine full team attacking other teams objective with wraiths and warthogs and ghosts while other team defends their base with same amount of force. It’s epic!

But both (1 sided and 2 sided objectives) should still be available in BTB.

So you’re basically saying that we should rely on the horribly flawed TrueSkill to give us even matches so we can play objective games with hardly any vehicles and where people definitely won’t quit and/or purposefully not win to boost stats?

Long live Heavies!

That said, I wouldn’t mind Heavy Objectives. What I like about heavies is the extra vehicles and power weapons (which if you think about it, just add more strategy) and not necessarily that it’s slayer. I love a good game of CTF, it’s just that Reach doesn’t really have any good games of CTF. Here’s to better times in Halo 4

Don’t they have objective heavy gametypes? Like CTF Heavies?

Then where would we utilise the amount of vehicular combat then if we don’t have any Heavy variants in BTB we need them!

I’d love a Heavy Objective gametype. Then those people obsessed with vehicles could be pleased, and BTB could be more team oriented again.

For my opinion on the subject as a whole, I like slayer and objective in BTB. Slayer allows me and my friends to slaughter many a man who dare enter our snare. Objective allows us to work together to maintain a goal. That usually doesn’t happen though. Objective gametypes are few and far between, and it’s always Heavies. Heavies is fun, yeah, but it is usually just get the tank/power weapon, sit somewhere for 5mins, die. Rinse, repeat, then win or lose. It feels very FFA in that respect.

(Note: not all matches are like that. Just too many.)

Objective gametypes usually include a harem of vehicles. And then you have someone trying to escort the objective in a vehicle. Hunt them down for vehicle combat.

How is this relevant to halo 4? I mean I get it, you don’t want heavies, no one in their right mind does. But we don’t even know if it’s in at launch.

I think he was more refering to if it is a game type offered in match making.

I actually love Heavies, one of my favorite gametypes in BTB & as much as I love objective based gametypes the whole BTB shouldn’t be on objective based.

Heavies was amazing in Halo 3.

Heavies is… okay in Reach.

then again, BTB overall was 5x better in Halo 3 (15x better in Halo 2) than in Reach.

don’t get me wrong though, CTF is awesome in BTB (except HemoRAGE; everything in HemoRAGE sucks due to the DMR)

I only liked Heavies on Valhalla. I prefer Objective games for Big Team Battle much more.

Theres more action in BTB heavies which is why everyone votes for it and it does take teamwork. You don’t coordinate with your team on Craigmire or Graveyard, you’re gonna get torn apart. BTB heavies could have been better in Reach if there was better maps created for it.

Heavies in Halo 3 was some of the most amazing and epic Matchmaking experiences I’ve ever had online.

I hope Halo 4 really delivers this time, BTB wise.

I like how “kill times are faster” in BTB Heavies due to the heavy nature of the weapons and increased vehicle count.

The only problem I have with Heavies is when there are lasers that spawn every few seconds instead of minutes. They should spawn to clean up every so often, not be a constant anti-vehicle nuisance.

I think regular BTB should be kept but objectives are good. Unfortunately randoms don’t work well together very often. That and statpadders.
