I really enjoyed studying and learning from the heat-maps that Bungie provided for Halo 2. So as a fun project to help me learn programming, I decided to try and make my own heat-maps of the Halo 5 maps using 343 Industries API.
Currently this project is just running on my local server on my computer, but if enough people are interested I’d be happy to try and share this application with everyone!
Since I am a lowly recruit in the forums I cannot post images yet, so here is a link to my post on Imgur:

I would love to hear what you all think!
Lazy Link
I would like to see this as well. Population counters too.
A very nifty project that could demonstrate what weapons are dominant as well as Heat map for what areas of the map are the most/least traversed. I like it very much!
Great idea i missed these from the halo 3 days

Thank you for the clickable link lol!
Just to get a better understanding, what exactly do you mean by “population counters”?

If you remember in halo 3 and reach, (and kinda 4) when you’d be in the matchmaking menu they had the number under the picture that stated how many people where online playing the game.
Keep up the good work, looks awesome.

Ahh, yes I remember that. Thank you for explaining.
Unfortunately, I am not sure if that data is currently available for us to use with the API. As of today, the current API focuses mainly on single players and their individual match data.
Awesome work on this! I also second the idea about doing one for paths/routes that are less used.
Thank you everybody for your support!! Because of the such positive responses, I am going to try and get this online, which I hope will take less than a week. I only have 1 map so far, but I know I will be able to make more, relatively quickly.
I’ll let you guys know when I have any more news!
