Now one of the (many, many, many) things I loved about Halo 3 was the ability to eavesdrop on nearby enemy conversation. Especially in objective games. Now a lot of the time you won’t hear a lot of valuable info (though once I happened to sneak up on an enemy telling his teamates where to go, and we got the drop on them). But at the very least, it gives you (or at least it did me) an idea of how many enemies you’ll be facing in the next room.
To me this isn’t just a social aspect, it can give you a tactical advantage quite often. I distincly remember a game of CTF on Valihalla (think I spelt that wrong) where we were about to sneak into the enemy base, when we happened to hear two guys in there talking about how bad we were, we now knew what we were up against before the fight had begun and they still had no idea we were even outside, we charged in guns blazing and then they just screamed “Oh, f*** you!!!” then died. Hilarious.
So, what do you think? Would you like this feature to return? If so, in what playlists? And if not, why not?

Agreed, with the option to have it in my headset like Reach as well, I love Proximity voice.

Right…Yeah the problem is a lot less people are talking in Reach
