Hear me out: Warthog / CTF idea

You’re sitting shotgun in the hog, and the flag has been dropped in the open battle field…

As the 'hog zooms towards the flag the driver keeps the flag on the passenger side and WITHOUT getting out you scoop that sucker up and drive to victory!

That be fun right? … Right?

Your thoughts?

It definitely would be fun, but probably irritating to counter. Imagine you’re defending your flag, and a 'Hog zips by and immediately scoops up your flag. You better hope you have a rocket launcher or a plasma pistol because if you don’t that flag is gone like the wind. Also, I feel like the timing would be difficult to set up for a grab like that anyways. It’s still a cool idea!

Totally agree it be tough to defend. I don’t know what the nerf to this buff would be but it’s out there. Maybe more ammo in anit-vehicle weapons. As in; sure you can laser a few Spartans but you better saved a charge if one of this dudes passenger scoops that flag.

The idea would be a lot more fun if everyone was in a warthog and driving over the flag puts it in your warthog. Then you race back to base while a bunch of hogs pursue you.

Add this feature to rocket-hogs, sure. Otherwise, hard pass.

That would be cool but unbalanced, would make it too easy.

It would be cool to have the option for this in custom games. The more options/variety of modes, the better.

I hope Halo Infinite goes full throttle with customization, as in gamemodes, vehicles, armor, weapons, etc. to make the game have Infinite possibilities.

It would be an interesting feature, but they would have to find a way to balance it. Maybe if they made it to where timing has to be perfect in order to grab the flag instead of just holding the grab button while the hog approaches it.

Well maybe we could ad some more weapons (especially non-UNSC ones).
I had an idea for a Plasma Disruptor, sort of a sister weapon to the Plasma Caster/Concussion rifle to the covenant much like how the sticky launcher is to the reach grenade launcher. This weapon fires the overcharged green shots that is from a plasma pistol but is not dual wieldable and does not fire the standard plasma bolts of a plasma pistol. So a slower rate of fire from the plasma caster as it overcharges the bolt then lets loose, has the tracking of a plasma pistol overcharged shot. Has enough for 12-18 shots depending on how fast you fire (firing without a full cool down takes more energy. It does emp damage so it will stun vehicles, drain shields and break armor abilities, but very little actual damage which makes it more of a support weapon/tool than a weapon. Still I think it is a great counterpart to the UNSC Grenade launcher with those EMP grenades and fits a nice anti-light vehicle role.

Make this rocket hogs and it might work. But at what point is it just two teams of warthogs blowing each other up and not playing CTF…

it seems like a good idea but I feel like it would get annoying really fast. I also think it wouldn’t be the most balanced mechanic
