Will Health and shields be combined in Halo 2 and Halo 3 since we would be controlling MK sixes again?
Supposedly Chief’s armour is Mk. VII, although it is unexplained how he got the sudden change of wardrobe.
Personally I don’t mind the Health system. It was around in Halo 3 for sure but it wasn’t visible, to my knowledge.
I would like to see health and shields separate, like halo reach, but I want it to behave like Halo 2-3, just so I can see how much health I really have.
If MC had MK VII, I wonder if it will have any cool new features or a more complex HUD?
Shields and Health have never been the same. It’s just that it hasn’t actually been displayed until Halo 3: ODST/ Reach.
Then was the Halo 3 health bar just shields?
Yeah I think that will be better.
Unless 343 has some better ideas cooking over there…
> Then was the Halo 3 health bar just shields?
Halo 3 only had a Shield bar. There was Health, it just wasn’t displayed.
I kinda liked having only the health bar displayed. In reach if your low on health but have full shields, you died anyway. With only having the health bar the grenades, or at least frags, would only make you one shot.
I’m making a big deal out of nothing but it’s just simpler keep it at just shields. This wouldn’t be such a problem if grenades weren’t mini nukes plus wouldn’t it fix fall damage?
I liked how the system worked in Halo 2/3. If your shields broke, you were essentially dead unless you got to cover.
I hope it goes back to the Halo 2/3 system. When I first played Halo 2 I missed the health pack system from CE but when I played ODST and Reach I realized how much I enjoyed Halo 2 and 3s health more.
i like health + shields. it feels right. health packs add a new dimension to the game that i really enjoy, whilst adding a BIT of skill gap and a bit of added juking potential to boot.
With MC’s new set of armor, who knows what the health and shield system could be. It could be a totally new system.

this though I doubt he has mark VII where did that come from anyway, I know they will tell us why it looks different but I still seriously doubt it is Mark VII
I don’t really care if health is visible or not, but I want it to recharge. Health packs do not make me feel like a Spartan.

Spartans don’t have regenerative capabilities. Health Packs are more true to the lore than regenerative health is.

Canon should have nothing to do with gameplay mechanics.

This.
I prefer actually being able to choose to take the initiative in finding a health pack than just having it regenerate over time without any indication of where it’s at.
Nah. I would rather see my health, given the choice. However, I am not strictly against hiding health from the player.
It wouldn’t hurt to have recharging health, like Halo 2 and 3, but have it visible, like CE and Reach, so we can see how close we are to dying. From a canon perspective, it wouldn’t make sense to return to health packs, because the Mark VI had internal Biofoam dispenser.
