that would be great if they add a weapon that regains healt to the vehicles like the link gun on unreal tournament but only if the vehicle is not destroyed what do u think??

an interesting idea. certainly better than sprint.

WOW, sprint even gets mentioned in threads that aren’t even related to it, mob mentality. It’s not even that terrible, -Yoinking!- hell, give it a bloody rest.

Not really . . . I don’t know what the problem with sprint is . . . I find that the only tolerable AA.
Imagine a gun that could heal a vehicle . . . Your team works hard (really hard) to get an enemy scorpion tank down to like . . . no health and all of a sudden some dude comes over and fully revives the tank . . .
No, no weapon that heals vehicles. In my opinion at least.
If there is a way to repair vehicles, it should either be a larger vehicle (drive inside it to be repaired) or a immobile structure (drive inside to be repaired). repairs should take time, and perhaps would only be able to repair superficial damage (i.e., if a vehicle is critically damaged (on fire) it cannot be fully repaired)
perhaps it should also only able to repair smaller land vehicles (not tanks), and to make it fit cannon, there should be a different repair structure for human and covenant… unless the repair unit is forerunner… then maybe it can do full repairs?
I would also say have one per map, that way the teams have to fight over it. Imagine if the elephant in halo 3 could (slowly) heal vehicles parked inside of it, and there was only one on the map. something like that might be ok.
I don’t see how you could explain a handheld repair tool that can miraculously heal a scorpion for 99.99% of its health. I always thought the Link Gun was a little… off, haha. everything in halo so far has been explained (more or less) by cannon. if you can field-repair vehicles, it should fit with cannon.

Lol seriously…
This is just a stupid idea. Wouldn’t it just be better to wait the 1 minute respawn?
> This is just a stupid idea. Wouldn’t it just be better to wait the 1 minute respawn?
True. but if you made it so certain vehicles have a much longer respawn time, you make keeping them alive (and repaired) that much more important. Imagine if the scorpion never respawns, but you can repair it, and if you fail, you have no tank.
Depends on how much value you want to place on the vehicles, and what kind of value.
I do agree that waiting is just as good though. But ideas never hurt (not like it can be added at this point, anyway).
I think it’s an interesting idea. If there were a repair “gun”, it would have to take time to work, and the person should be immobile while it’s going. And it should have a limit of repairing up to either 33% or 50% of a vehicle’s normal max health so you don’t just have immortal vehicles everywhere.
Halo 2’s vehicle “health” system worked pretty well.
This is Halo, not Battlefield, people.
Keep it simple!
do u mean like the bf3 repair tool?
I think it’s a good idea for some playlists like invasion or btb, but it sure could do with some tweaking
First of all, it shouldn’t be a weapon/tool, it should be a function attached to bases and/or elephants or similar (mobile base) units. The repair tool would be fairly slow and could only repair a vehicle back to say 33% health and never higher, to prevent quick repair and invulnerable vehicles. Repair should have a warm up time, it takes 10-15 seconds before the repair is started, and if the vehicle is damaged repair is immediately terminated.
This would make the repair station something to fight over, a good way to save a damaged vehicle without making it over powered. Also, it would make it very easy to kill enemy vehicles when they stand still to get that extra health boost, or snipe the driver. A risk/reward system.
