whats your thoughts on this???

is it just part of the internal build while things are being put together or is this actually being considered??

There is no way I wasn’t to see this stuff in the middle of my screen. IT makes for a cluttered HUD, its distracting to the actual battle going on HUD and with the announcer saying “killing spree” I don’t need to read it as well

HOWEVER

having the option to turn it off and on would be good for people that are deaf and cannot hear the announcer. I have seen threads in the past where deaf gamers have requested things to help them out.

I think my vote will be for optional

Not really sure why they would have these sort of things pop up in the middle of the screen like that. It does more harm than good.

It doesn’t need to be in the middle of the screen at all. In fact, it doesn’t even need to be there. We already have a medal pop up if you get a headshot or killing spree that is off to the side of the screen so it isn’t in the way.

As someone else has stated earlier…if you were playing SWAT and got a double, triple, overkill, exterm, killing spree, avenger; that is about 9 medals and words that will pop up in the middle of your screen. At the rate the words were refreshing in the video, it will take 36 seconds to go through all of these…

I would want it to be optional.

Text on your HUD isn’t a good idea.

But it would be good for as you said deaf people.

It does seem like it will be annoying to have text pop up in the middle of your screen whenever you get a medal. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that having the medal and the text show up at the side, out of the way, has always been good enough for us.

Showing text is completely redundant. The medals were created to represent those different feats without having to show text.

It could change though. For Reach, Bungie’s multiplayer beta trailer showed an alpha of the game where the medals popped up in the lower center of the screen. Obviously that changed for the better.

thats the one thing I liked always about halos HUD is its balanced and not cluttered like CODs or gears. nothing distracting or taking away from the action on your screen

i think this poll is very very telling. no one wants this text forced into our screens. do you all remember the text frenzy that is Reach when played on splitscreen? it’s almost impossible to play at times with all the text flowing over the center of your vision.

at least move the text down to the bottom of the HUD

We have a medal, announcer and apparently text now? I’m not dumb, I don’t need three notifications of something I just did.

…Ok maybe a little dumb, two should be fine, but not three…

Sounds like a great idea but not needed.
As others have said, Medals and Announcer are all you need.

I wouldn’t mind an announcement of “Headshot” when using the sniper rile.

Looked like a cool effect. May be overkill though, considering we already have the medal and Steitzer to tell us we got it.

just to add this in as well if we seeen it for killing spree we would also see it for frenzy, riot ect ect. that would be annoying
