Ive read here recently that they do not count as a head shot. This seems kind of crazy as a headshot with a precision weapon is indeed a requirement for a perfect kill.
Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this weather this is true or not… I have over 2200 perfect kills in halo 5. If these are not included it seems like a gross misrepresentation of the correct headshot count for the company.
If other players in the company are at a similar number that could be up to 220000 headshots incorrectly accounted for.
Im hoping that this indeed isn’t the case. Kinda puts a dampener on the achillies grind.

Not necessarily.
A good player can get tons of headshots in Swat with ease.
It seems strange to me that it doesnt count as a perfect kill and a headshot. As tedious as swat is, thats your best bet for headshots
I know sniper headshots, perfects, and regular headshots all count towards the triple double medal, so I see no reason they wouldn’t count towards that commendation as well.

My company is currently pushing headshots shots as it’s our last hurdle to the helmet so counting these would be difficult as we have quite a few guys playing.

You might have a word with Khelekrandir; he does stat tracking for the company I’m in and may be able to provide evidence one way or the other. It was a point of discussion many months ago in our company and the numbers didn’t seem to make sense without them being included.

They count towards triple double so I would think they would also be counting towards the headshot commendation. I have noticed that Halo 1 pistol does not really count towards anything though. You can get headshots and perfect kills with it, but I have had issues with it counting towards triple double so it may have the same issue with commendations.

If you have 4 reliable people in the company, you could have them form a new company and test it out. I’m curious as to the results.

Evidence: I played BTB the other day [Game History] and earned 1 Headshot Medal, 2 Sniper Headshot Medals, and 1 BR Perfect Kill (not my best headshot work, but good for this example). I logged into the Halo API website, and queried this game. The TotalHeadshots count in this game for my gamertag is ‘4.’
Note: Company commendations have not been added to the Halo API, and requirements have not been clarified by 343i. It’s possible that SOMETHING ON YOUR FACE counts the headshots medal and not the TotalHeadshots stat.

Actually, didn’t need to check the API, the game history page also displays total headshots. Point still stands.

They’ve been kind of mum on Spartan Companies. To be frank, the lack of Spartan company support for Halo Wars 2 has me worried about the future of Spartan Companies. They don’t get mentioned a lot and don’t get a lot of attention. Hopefully Spartan Companies don’t go the way of H2 clans.
Don’t see why they would not count. But you should focus on headshots and not perfect kills. Good luck on the grind.
