I’m looking into getting a new headset for xbox 360 game play. I have been looking into the Tritton Warheads and also the Astro 50s/40s and turtle beach?
Any preferences and what are your guys thoughts?

I had the warheads for about 2 weeks before i sent them back, they didnt have enough padding so the top of my head would hurt(i keep my hair really short so maybe i need more padding), i thought they needed to be broken in so i kept them and hoped for the best but then the right speaker got really quiet and would only get about half as loud as the other(happened mid game so i got really disorientated rofl)
I bought them from gamestop so i was able to return them in store instead of shipping them back and i ordered the astro 50s which will be here monday.
its really sucky because i loved the warheads but now that i look back I dont know why i kept them so long because they were really uncomfortable and the fact that the warheads had a speaker go out just straight up pissed me off because if you pay that much for something as simple as a headset you’d think quality would stick, after 3 years my turtle beach x11s are still goin strong.
The a50/40s from what ive read are the same headset except the 50s are wireless so cannot be used in tournament play and the ear cups are closed so they cannot be customized but should have better bass sounds being closed.
My Turtlebeach x11s have stood strong though tons of gaming and have never had any issues, so i would assume that the newer, higher end turtlebeach headsets would be a great buy also, from what ive read the xp500s can be programmed(something astro is workin on for the a50s)
I may have just had a bad headset with the warheads but im going to stay away from trittons, never got to try on the xp500s but they look like they would fit the same as my x11s, and i got to try on some a40s a few months ago when i was in kansas city and i liked them but didnt have the cash at the time.
I bought the Astro A50’s has them for 3 weeks the chat cable is incredibly annoying! I had Chat issues & Audio drop outs that couldn’t be fixed with software updates. Astro eventually offered me and everyone else that bought the A50’s a free repair, however I returned mine for a full refund.
I have since bought the Halo 4 Tritton Warheads 7.1 and they are amazing. Heaps better feel & audio than the A50’s and NO Cables.
Very very happy I returned the Astro’s for the Tritton’s.
Buy one headset, nit pick the crap out of it and if after a a while you don’t like it return it.
I use Gamestop because you can order online and return to the local store and have them ship a different one to your house. i do this with all my decent priced purchase because idont like to settle.
