Can someone please explain why I bothered to grind 152 for a coating when they now release a very very similar one for free to everyone…

I’m super pumped for the twitch drop weapon coatings, they look sick.
I never had the time to grind to 152 since I’ve got a family and full time job, but i very much respect those who did in terms of Halo commitment. (I got to 148 I think, so I still enjoyed a ton of H5)
That being said, me getting these weapon coatings is a slap in the face to all you 152’s, and I’m sorry 
. I’m still going to rock the f out of the BR coating at least though… >.>
Its nice to see 3000 hrs spent for SR152 was worth it (people even spent money for the girnd to get the legendary booster pack). First screwed the Skin, then made the only good thing from 152 grind (the weapon skin) and give it to everyone for free. They Basically used Bait and switch tactic with us. So i didn’t have that much hopes left in 343 to keep there promises. So i feel ur frustration bro.
U would think that they will at least say something out fixing the SR152 watchdog skin when we reported the issue 2 months ago. nope instead they gave out sr152 weapon skin for free.

Well if you’re asking me personally, seeing as the $150 I spent on orange flames for Reach is basically free in MCC, and that my rare/special nameplates are no longer usable in that game as well, I actually don’t really care if I’m being honest.
I can see why some players would be frustrated, but my life isn’t controlled by virtual trinkets and milestones that only the most die hard forum dwellers would appreciate.

The Bungie All Stars emblem was my personal crowning achievement, rendered moot by Bungie themselves after giving it out for free and after Xbox live service being terminated for good for Reach.
Regardless snowflake trinkets come and go, watchdog will be forgotten just as Reach’s nameplates were, just as Recon was, just as TF2’s golden hammer was, etc etc etc as it will always be.
do me a favour and grind like 2000 hours for a reward and see how you react when they then add almost the exact same crap in the game for some credits

There’s a difference between false promises and design choices.
The armor coating issue egregious as there’s evidence that the design was swapped at some point without warning.
The weapon coating “issue” can be discussed reasonably from both sides, but is far from some grave underhanded controversy like the Jazwares scam or the Watchdog coating swap.
And in 10 years, what’s all that effort really worth?
Recon is worthless, Achilles is meaningless in a depopulated title, flaming helmets and nameplates are moot, every special unlock has come and gone with time and executive decisions.
I made my point here, despite their similarities they are in fact comparatively different. Why make a post about it when there’s 5 actually identical posts discussing this that I can make my point in?

There are titles I play that have met or are close to 2k hours logged, I have nothing but a counter to show for it, and I’m fine with that.

Was at a point where I almost purchased Hal’s armor and sword for Fable 2 on eBay until it was available on the Xbox Marketplace but that’s as far as I’d go for purchases.
