One perhaps foolishly thought that a ‘new’ REQ pack had been released so went and wasted 80,000 REQ points on it. Nowhere does it say “you already bought this when it was previously released so you’ll get naff all from it” or anything like it, oh no, it lets you waste your points or cash. I wonder who has paid cash for this? After all the previous farce surrounding this brand I really should have known better.
Seriously fed up with this franchise now. I came back to Halo 5 recently as I enjoyed the game, but I’m very disappointed now. I think it safe to say “Halo 5 and 343, you’re fired.”

What research? It appeared just now as an available REQ, which one perhaps assumes is something new?
Genuine question, where would one research to see what’s in it unless one purchases it?
I bought it a while back and got some pretty lame stuff, so I’d just advise staying away from those packs unless it’s something like the Greatest Weapons one, where it actually seems valuable.
Also that’s kind of on you since getting 5 XP boosts means you have the stuff unlocked, although they definitely need to add some kind of notice when that happens.

That’s sort of part of my point - One perhaps foolishly thought it was something new so opened one.

Well you have an internet connection so it’s not hard to read up on waypoint to see if they are offering anything new. There are the forums, the news section, community update area, also they give a description of what the pack contains in game.

Appreciate the pointers, obvious really. The in-game description doesn’t really give much away, but I guess the forums etc would, that’s if people have opened them first?
Anyhoo, just grumpy as I fell foul of my own haste to get new stuff and ended up losing 80,000 of my hard earned REQ points. Grrr etc…
I should take the hit and move on I guess…
Perhaps at least my rantings on here might do some good to prevent others doing the same as I did. I think that’s where I’m at.

Yeah I would pretty much always check waypoint, especially the forums, to see if the packs are worth getting. I have everything already so pretty much know none of these packs are worth getting.

They’ve been saying that they won’t be adding any new REQs to Halo 5 for a while now. If you already got the HCS skins, you shouldn’t have expected more.
It is disappointing that they didn’t add Splyce skins, though…

I haven’t bought any REQs for a few months. Did the actually add the team skins to the general pool? If so, I’ll have to buy some gold and find out (:
They were most likely added because there is an EU HCS tourney this weekend.
I don’t think 343 can get the entire blame here. If new skins were going to be added, they would’ve made a big deal about it considering we haven’t had new REQ’s for a good while now.

I just have to say that we all know that the HCS REQ packs or any REQ’s you purchase that can be bought with RP’s will be a let down. Its usually gonna be pay $10 (or what ever payment you use) or pay 80,000 RP’s and get let down each time.
Sorry I couldn’t help but laugh . But you also have a bit of a point. I think there is a bit of blame on both parts here . You should know what you have purchased and what you own. But also the req system / menu does need too be reworked- why there isn’t a sell all system, a better layout maybe a favourite ability on favourite reqs so when at the req system in game your favourite weapons can be at the top of the list as opposed to scrolling through hundreds of rubbish weapons and variants . Would be a lot more efficient and slick also taking customisation up a notch . Especially if armour , emblems etc were all reworked to give more customisable options we would have a more unique experience to ya as an individual.
> Purchase of the HCS Pack will unlock 5 special HCS visual customization items for use in Arena and Warzone! Subsequent purchases unlock 5 rare or better visual customization items if available.
That “if available” clause is pretty important. If you’ve already unlocked every permanent, and there is nothing left to unlock, it has to default to some single-use REQs. And because it’s an Arena-based pack, it will go to Arena Boosts, because what use would an Arena player gave for warzone REQs?
Usually the addition of new REQ weapons, armors, emblems, etc. are announced weeks before they are actually added to the game. 343i has never surprise added new REQs. So if an old special pack appears again, that doesn’t mean it’s selling new stuff.

And anything new would be on the opening announcement screen of Halo 5.

It’s no different from last time it was around, so it gives you:
HCS Contender weapon skins (AR, BR, Magnum) - HCS Contender Red weapon skins (AR, BR, Magnum - HCS Contender Blue weapon skins (AR, BR, Magnum) - Athlon Champion helmet and armor - Halo Championship Series emblemYou’ll have to buy it three times (I think) to get everything. If you already have everything, you’ll receive five Rare Arena XP boosts.

Actually it’s Rare Arena boosts. I thought it would be Legendary as well, and so I bought one just to see. I have a lot of RP’s saved up, anyway it was only Rare one’s.
