Who will be joining me in some HCS goodness?! I am really excited since I have been playing this non stop. So this’ll help with XP, and help bring some players to the playlist that might not otherwise try it.

Wish I could but today is the worse day… Sadly my elite controller is dead. It won’t turn on wired or with batteries. Don’t know if I can play H5 with the crappy standard controller… Consoles and controllers are such crap now a days. My original Nintendo stuff, N64, PS2, even my Atari stuff all old used and abused and they still work. Been super careful with this elite controller, never dropped, thrown, smashed nothing… And now today it just won’t wake up.

Sorry to frakin’ hear that man. I just got back from EB game (gamestop) with a recon tech controller because BOTH of my standard controllers are messed up. Right top button over the trigger broke on both, as well. glued em on, but ya’know, that don’t ‘feel’ right. I’m hoping this one is more sturdy.
Does anyone know the average xp you would get in a game of HCS ? I don’t play arena much but have some legendary xp boosts I want to use

Yeah it really sucks when you lose that Elite. I recently had to go back to my standard and it was difficult to do. I had to relearn since I had all my buttons on back paddles. It’s doable though, and I even changed from Bumper Jumper to Helljumper.
I get it though. I hope you can get it back up and running. I know you are not big on HCS, but you could get into some Mythic I am sure. More than likely most people are going to be in Infection though.

I went back and looked at a couple of my games and it’s about 2-5000. That depends of course on winning/losing, boosts and individual stats. Your Legendary is for 5,000.
Try it out if you haven’t stepped in yet. Make sure you search Focused. It’s a little longer wait, but you’ll have a better chance for a balanced match.
Don’t get me wrong I do love HCS. I watch it when ever the events are on and no I don’t even mind the game play of HCS playlist, although it can get a bit stale because it’s usually just a pistol fest. I just feel not every playlist in H5 has to play like HCS or even have a flavor of HCS. The appeal of Halo to me is the variety of weapons. In H5 just about every weapon is actually useful now. Unlike the original series of Halo, which while they were great games, quite a few of the weapons were utterly useless in multiplayer.

Sorry to hear that. I’m still using the original controller because I can’t bring myself to buy an Elite.

Oh nice soo I might be able to get 10,000 a game then which isn’t too bad.
Yea I prefer more balanced games soo I don’t mind waiting a bit longer. I’m hoping I do alright I’m normally mid platinum to mid diamond but it’s been a while since I have played ranked. I normally just play warzone assault and heroic firefight

A solo player in HCS is the hardest rating climb ever. Best of luck to a fellow solo player

Yes it is, and after all day yesterday the best I could get to was Gold 2. I know it makes thing more difficult. Solo just works better for me. I tend to put less pressure on myself. I am rarely at the top of the scoreboard, and I tend to feel worse about it when I am with a group.
Maybe we’ll run into each other!
With all these solo players, we should all totally meet up and actually form a team. Our play styles may be different, but as long as you have a mic, it’s all good.
I haven’t placed in HCS this season. Mainly because I go in solo. If anyone wants to play, add me. I’m always looking for people. We don’t have to win each and every game.
As far as the broken elite controllers… Maaaannnnnn… I have 3 elite controllers. The bumpers kept breaking. Turns out the bumpers are super cheap and super easy to break. After buying my third controller, I googled how to fix. It’s interesting to take apart and actually rebuild the controller. Now, every time my controller breaks (and it does… every few months, depending on how much I play) I just fix it. The more I take apart my elite controller, the faster and easier it gets to replace. BAM! Taught myself a skill.

You say that now, but believe me I am saving you. I have literally had a teammate ask, “Dax what are you doing? Why are you on the other side of the map by yourself?”. I had no answer for him.
The thought that when a teammate dies they can look at my pov, and see how clueless I am at times is…dude trying to keep everything straight in this game is pretty daunting.
I spawn:

Walk, don’t run cause I can’t react as fast if I am running.
Where are the power weapons, or secondary weapons? Oh -Yoink-, I forgot to time the Camo. Okay, there’s the enemy…oh, -Yoink- I’m in a one on one. Strafe, shoot, thrust, three to the body, one to the head. Watch my radar. Where am I? Make the call out. Who am I shooting?
Stay calm, don’t clench, -Yoink- I clenched and melee’d instead of shooting. Now I’m dead start all over."
That’s not even including the trick jumps, slides and whatnot. It’s a lot for my brain. But, for some odd reason I love it. And I will continue.
Oh and by the way, Gold 3 baby!
Maybe if the playlist ranked me properly. Gives me gold when I have been onyx and diamond in every other playlist for the past year almost. Smh.

I’m not sure what you are meaning here. Because you are ranked so high in other playlists you should have the same rank in every one?
Just like with every playlist it ranks you according to your win/loss and the rank of the opponents you either won or lost against. Perhaps instead of looking at it that the playlist isn’t ranking you properly but that this is an accurate rank just like the others. I guess I don’t see how you can accept one over the other.
Also I forgot to mention that this actually seems to be a trend from what I have seen. Most players who are Diamonds and Onyx in other playlist are Golds and low Plats in this one. I have posted a question about this and ZaedynFel will hopefully respond. The only reference to this I found was this quote from him.

I’ve been using the locke halo controller for over a year now and I’ve never had any issues. I’m curious, how do 3 controllers manage to break and how did you justify buying 3 of them. Is the difference that noticeable on the elite?

It will take more than Double XP to drive me to that playlist. As much as I like to watch the HCS pros do their thing, I have no desire to play under the same rules. I quite enjoy the weapon variety in Halo 5. The pistol only playlist doesn’t really excite me much. Best of luck to everyone on the list and I hope ya’ll get a ton of XP for your efforts!
