HCS armors not being customizable

I accept the price of these, but it’s ridiculous that you can’t customize them. I bought the sentinel because it’s my colour scheme and the stupid coating system means there is no other way to use the colours I like. But then I find out that when I unlock a cool helmet, shoulders or whatever, I have to pick between them or the kit I paid for.

I’ve got a refund through Microsoft for it because it means either unlocking customization or my purchase is redundant. This will be the last purchase I make outside of battlepass. For the cost, it should have been a set of individual items that make the set

Thank you for saying this so I didn’t have to.
I want to use the coatings only, even if it’s restricted to Mark VII (but don’t let that stop you from making cross core coatings because I KNOW that’s easy 343).

We could do so much cooler things, like that bot that uses the cloud9 stuff with Trailblazer.

They have the option to let us, they just need to do it.

It’d make me feel better about spending ANOTHER 10 dollars for even another team kit.

Seriously dudes, like you can’t even put special FX on them…

Once I bought this I lost all need to or want to touch the game since progression doesn’t do anything for me anymore.

Note: We paid for the body emblem, and visor too, give us that separately for free too along with the coating (cross core comp would be appreciated) or we’ll be very unhappy halo fans.

And it would actually make them money. They would have had my $10 for sentinel and I would have got at least 1 or the black/gold combo and the red and black camo one, if I could use those coatings with my own armor combinations. Instead, they’ve lost $20-30 just from me, and based on what you’re saying I’m clearly not alone.

We just need to be loud as -Yoink!- because these are not uncommon complaints.

It’s criminal that a bot can do it and not us.

A literal bot has more customization than us.
I guess that shows they originally were gonna let us…
Forgot to scrap that one huh 343?

I didn’t know that about the bots, but that makes it much worse. Bots shouldn’t look better than I can especially if I’m willing to pay lol

Lol yeah what does the bot do for them? They made it to try to solve a MP problem not make money!

I’d love to know if 343 has anything to say about this. Or any plans? Please break the silence Ske7ch

Essentially it’s 343’s attempt at skins like in Warzone or Fortnite.

Hopefully these kits become modular. My old color scheme got yoinked by some lousy E-sports team, so it’s now 10$, and locked in their kit with the emblem of some sweat slapped on it.

They have said they are looking into it. Looking into it means whether MS is willing to let them, we all know they can do it. Modders have even found a way to do it so it is completely possible

How is that bait? Lol. I’ve been wanting crosscore since day 1

Exactly this, I like white with red and black accents, like the Sentinels one. Now, I can’t use that colour without losing ability to customize it. I don’t mind paying $10 for the kit even, but that should buy the parts individually, not locked together

The whole point of those kits is to dress up like the members of those teams, as well as support them. I highly doubt they’ll ever let you modify them in any way or form…

Don’t get too hung about one person using one medal on your post. Anyone can do it. I didn’t see anything about your post that looked baity.

I definitely think Crosscore is possible, but I’m wondering if they’re hesitant because if how bad some of the stuff clips. But if they at least did MK V and MK VII that would be more than we have now. And at least as far as chest pieces go, there isn’t anything major aside from Jun’s chest piece that I was able to see when I tried mixing and matching pretty much every chest between those two cores.

Don’t worry, I don’t, just laughable when that’s all people can do, lol

I don’t think clipping is too much of an issue. MCC clips and people didn’t complain much about that. It is just complaining for the sake of complaining because the rest of the game is mostly bad.
And if there is stuff that clips, why does it matter? If people want to do that, whatever, you do you.

I mean, I don’t care if some stuff clips myself. I just wouldn’t use it. I don’t mind if a game has a bit more “bugs” if it means we as players get to do more.

That being said, if you check out the Waypoint glitch you’ll see that some Yoroi stuff clips really bad with the other cores. Some of it also floats above the armor. I don’t know if 343 would allowing the mixing of Yoroi and other cores, but for MK VII and V there are much less compatibility issues.

Same. I’m not gonna use Jorge’s chest piece on the Samurai core if it clips inside his body and out the back or some other crazy crap but I do think the option should still be there.

An optional solution for this would to allow stuff that doesn’t clip or just clips slightly to be crosscore compatible while the stuff that is really bad can be locked to a single core. Still allows for way more customization on all cores and 343 wouldn’t need to worry about making sure everything they make doesn’t clip with anything else, that is just not feasible with a game like this
Also, I’ve heard people talking about this waypoint glitch but have no idea how to utilize it…

Yeah, I agree, a compromise would be allowing the stuff that doesn’t clip. Which is quite a lot.

And the waypoint glitch is rather simple once you figure it out, but hard to explain abstractly. I’ll do my best to explain it by example, it works the same regardless of what you want to do.

Suppose you want to see what Willow Tea looks like on MK V [B]. First, equip MK V. Can be in game, or in the Waypoint app. The. Open up the Waypoint app. Go to the customization tab (bottom of app). Scroll over to MK VII. Hit modify (do not hit equip or you’ll have to start over). Then go to coatings, and try and equip Willow Tea. It doesn’t matter if you have it unlocked or not. Wait a few seconds until you see Willow Tea on MK VII. Next, hit the body tab (top of app). If everything worked out, you’ll see it.

It is important the coating shows up on MK VII before you hit body. There are some items which won’t show up if you don’t have them unlocked, but most will. I’m not sure what causes this, but it’s something to be aware of. Also, you cannot equip helmet attachments via this glitch. Probably because it goes through an additional window. Though, if you use the glitch to equip a helmet, the attachments you currently had on will attach to it. So you could try out Cat Ears on Air Assault by first equipping them on a MK VII helmet, then using the glitch to try out Air Assault on MK VII.

Great, so the colour combination I always use for everything in every game is now off limits be ause Sentinels use it?

The Kits themselves will just not be modifiable, doesn’t mean they cannot release individual coats and stuff down the line that are the same or at least look similar.

They may be the only way to get a super clean color variant though of armors. Since the Pro Team Kits are so far the only ones that have done super clean armors.
