Are we finally going to see our baby come back? We were promised in Halo 4 and Halo 5, but had a no show. Are we GOING to get it in Infinite?
I think that it’ll definitely be in Infinite with a “343 twist” to it.
An iteration of it called “Yoroi” is confirmed.

Hells yeah.
That kinda reignites hope that MCC Halo 4 will receive the Hayabusa armor it WAS supposed to get but with its name altered to Yoroi.
Likely we didn’t get it back in the day since 343 and Square Enix couldn’t cooperate on another crossover between Halo and Ninja Gaiden/Dead or Alive.
no given Hayabusa was a marketing deal with Ninja Gaiden. Its unlikely it will ever come back to halo

Maybe in Season 8, here is hoping. A focus on Halo 4 and Halo 2 would make the most sense.

I agree, which is why I made THIS topic on the forums earlier today.

Square Enix? Don’t you mean Koei Tecmo? As under KT, Team Ninja creates the Ninja Gaiden series.
Yoroi is basically that but different.
A modified version perhaps. The name is just a Japanese word, and not owned by KT. The design could easily be altered slightly to avoid any IP issues. Yoroi is inspired by Samurai armour but that doesn’t really make it Hayabusa.
Guys yoroi is literally a samurai not a ninja?
These sets are not even in the slightest sense the same outside of Japanese influences…
It might come back.
People have made weak arguments it can’t due to licencing but they are all easily circumvented from what I can tell.

While thats true, it has also become a fan favorite after its inclusion. Unless there is some legal issue I do see that as a reason we have to keep it out of our hands in future titles.

it would be a legal issue. Cross promotion does not mean its available in all future halo titles. Its in MCC as its a loophole as its still technically in h3

They could still use the design and just rename it to “Hanzo” or “Ninja” or “Assassin”

that is also a legal issue given what that design is derived from. Hyabusa will not come back unless that cross promo is renegotiated for infinite specifically.

They could base it off of the Halo 4 design, which is different enough from the source material to make it work.

That depends on what their owners think. You or I might think its different enough, they might not - and unless they give their approval, then it’s “Not different enough” to be acceptable.

It then makes me wonder how EA takes to 343 making references to Dead Space with the Venator armor… or My Little Pony and the Fotus armor…or how Bungie feels about Marathon being referenced by the H5 Security Armor? I mean, certainly they do not have the same names as the characters, so there is some LOOSENESS to the eastereggs. Honestly, if they gave us a design that reminds us of the H3 and H4 Hayabusa armors but it has a different name; that would satisfy the fans.
That is probably why Halo Online as Samurai armor, Halo 5 has Shinobi, and Halo Infinite has Yoroi

I died at " …or My Little Pony and the Fotus armor", lol too real.
I enjoy Yoroi quite a bit and already feel it looks like a next gen Hayabusa toa degree so there is that, I do miss the old design though. I am no lawyer, in fact I am quite ignorant of copyright law, so I could totally see what the other users are saying as true, but I do wonder how hard it would be to get their approval or around it if we really wanted to.

I know the guy who has claims to designing the Fotus armor… and I believe his claim.
The dude was an intern shadowing at Microsoft during the development of Halo 4 and had insider knowledge that no one else had when I browsed online.
He claimed to have designed Wetwork, Engineer, Venator, Fotus, and the Flood Spartans of Halo 4.
The guy was a big Bioshock, Dead Space, and My Little Pony.
He also had information on where the story was going… until the monster known as Brian Reed became the Narrative Director and ruined everything. Halo 5 was going to be great in terms of story until Brian did what he always does and gave us all whiplash from sudden and unnecessary plot shifts.
Not to mention the fact that the Fotus armor has descriptions in Halo 4 and Halo 5 as being used for tasks like coffee runs, you know, intern jobs?
