Hayabusa Armor is not Ryu Hayabusa

The hayabusa armor is actually a samurai armor set, the reason it gets mistaken as Team Nina was Nichole. Nichols is a substitute for the master chief who was gonna be in Dead or Alive 4. It may look like Ryu, but it’s completely different. Hayabusa has samurai shoulders and chest, not to mention its pretty much a reference like Bungie always put in reference. I know there’s other games like Gears series and table series that had halo things, but you don’t see bungle or 343I putting those into their games in return. So I’m safe to say it. Hahaha has nothing to do with Team Ninja.

Maybe I’m not understanding the point you are trying to make, but Hayabusa is the intellectual property of Team Ninja, and was created by Bungie in partnership with Team Ninja to promote each of their games. I feel like this topic has been brought up a lot lately, and I’m not sure why. Here’s a quote from Halopedia to clarify things:

> The Hayabusa armor bears a resemblance to the armor worn by feudal-era samurai. The armor is named after Ryu Hayabusa, the protagonist of the Ninja Gaiden series and a combatant in the Dead or Alive series. The helmet is almost an exact copy of the “ninja of the future” costume in Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox. Bungie likely created the Hayabusa armor as a tribute to Team Ninja for adding Nicole-458 into Dead or Alive 4. Team Ninja, the developers of the Ninja Gaiden series and Dead or Alive series, are mentioned in the credits for Halo 3.

And the partnership thing, the other games are halo like fable , but where’s the table stuff in halo. It’s just weird how people make misconceptions, but that’s life. :3

Okay, I get your argument now. But that doesn’t change the legal fact that Hayabusa armor, as portrayed in H3, is in fact the IP of Team Ninja, at least from what I’ve been told… so from my understanding, legally speaking there is no misconception.

No, you are correct. It is why the Hayabusa armour hasn’t appeared in another Halo game since 2007. I would say the Samurai variant is its replacement.

I was talking to Happy Place8166, hence why I quoted him.

Then why are concepts arts of the armor on Gabo Garza (the concept artist for halo 4 and 5, yes the one who drew osiris team that had thorn in buck’s place) and the renders for the armor in Halo 4? Because to me it’s a samurai armor. ;(

Because creating your own Samurai-inspired armor doesn’t violate any copyright laws. Garza can make any number of Samurai-inspired armor sets. It’s just that the specific armor called Hayabusa cannot be used unless an agreement is made between the owners of Hayabusa and 343.
