The Hayabusa armor set was featured only in Halo 3. The torso contained a mounted katana on the back, but sadly, it added nothing to gameplay, and was used only for looks.
My idea is if 343 should feature the Hayabusa set in Halo 5, then they should implement special assassinations with the katana while wearing the Hayabusa torso.
Sounds good in theory, but they may not be able to just take the armor and put it in Halo 5. Probably going to be some licensing stuff with Team Ninja over the assets. If they can work that out then yeah, i’m sure quite a few folk would be happy to see Hayabuse return to Halo. Especially with katanassassinations™ (needs to be some sort of achievement revolving around this)
Depends whether or not we get another Spartan in DOA, which I personally would love to have myself. They are supposed to be releasing one more edition of DOA5 and they probably will soon make a DOA game for the Xbone to continue the trend of things. So I wouldn’t completely out rule the possibility.
The Hayabusa armour was pretty cool and unique. However, because it was cool looking a good number of people playing Halo 3 would have stuck with this armour. It wasn’t too difficult to unlock it, if people were devoted enough to the game to collect all the skulls. Soon, there were MANY people using the Hayabusa armour, and variety was reaching an all time low. SO, while I do think they could bring it back (in some variation or another.) I just think that this time around they should make it much more difficult to unlock it than in Halo 3. Just so they could make it worth more. And there wouldn’t be a majority of people running around with this super badass samurai armour.
I actually rather the Raider armor. I would think that a more classical-samurai variation of Raider (With leveled shoulders a’la Hayabusa) would make more sense.
Especially seeing as Raider armor was designed with feudal Samurai armor aesthetics in mind (Primarily in the helmet), while Hayabusa’s most Samurai component was the shoulders. On the subject of the katana, I really hope that doesn’t come back. It was overworn in Halo 3.
The fully Hayabusa set doesn’t need to come back, but they should at least have another unique armor piece like the katana. It was something cool looking that had a decent skill requirement to get (unlike Hyabusa which just required getting skulls). It would also be cool, like a few other people in this thread have stated, to have custom animations for whatever it is without making it an actual weapon.

Actually, it’s highly unlikely that it will be in it. Since Hayabusa has only been a one-time deal so far, odds are that it will remain that way. There’s no evidence supporting otherwise.

That would be cool! Hayabusa was my favourite armor set. Except for the helmet.
Because of licensing we won’t get Hayabusa but we could still have other armor permutations with special weapons attached for assassinations. Like the Kukri from Emile’s suit or just a different Katana armor.
